'15 LB FL Cecil Cherry (former Vol commit)

“We’re not saying Texas is not a bad school. But it’s not designed for his style of defense.”

I feel like maybe this is something to look into BEFORE signing a LOI.

"From talking with Cherry’s father, it’s clear that Cecil’s decision to pick Texas over Tennessee strained their relationship. Winston Cherry said the two didn’t speak for two months."

Wut?

Thought his name was Travis?

Geez he might not have made 2 days here then. We got so lucky to get a stud in Kirkland.

It is interesting to see that his dad was very upset he decommitted from TN. We never heard that part of it.

I'm glad he didn't come here. If he came here and transfered after 3 practices, people would be freaking out about how "Butch has run another one off".

Always thought it was weird a slow, run stuffing mlb would go to a conference with a bunch of spread offenses. If he were smart, he would have gone to the Big 10. [BOLD]No one ever accused him of being smart though...[/BOLD]

This. I mean did you see his tweets?!

Tennessee got so lucky in this LB situation. Looks like pops wanted him to stick with the real UT but I am glad that he "chose" Texas over Tennessee he probably would have quit on us as well if it didn't go his way. I think it would be better for him to stick it out where he is and grow up a little.

Sounds like the other UT is not all it was cracked up to be for him. We could use more depth at LB, so is Butch on the phone to try and get Cherry back to the right UT?

I'm extremely glad Cherry ended up going to Texas and not Tennessee. His true colors showed when he was still committed to Tennessee, but he was blasting the University, football program and was saying how Texas was just SOOOOOO much better.

Never thought I'd ever see a player act like he did towards a school he was currently committed to.
