I don't remember Hendrix going 'dream school' after any of his visits though. Those kind of comments will make a staff uneasy where they sit with you with only a couple of months before NSD.

Maybe, but he was warned not to take the visit and he did. Now he's lost his spot. If he had not taken the visit he would be a Vol. HE is the responsible party.

Of course this assumes we aren't suggesting they look either which could also be involved. Not suggesting it is or was with Cherry but I would guess with some recruits it does.

I ain't gonna lie. I still hope we sign Cherry. He has been one of my favorite commits in this class. I'm not worried about all the hearsay about his supposed lack of speed. Instincts and raw talent can help offset a supposed lack of straight line speed. For an OLB, that isn't the case. But the NFL has a lot of MLB's who didn't have particularly stellar 40 times at the combine.

Teo, Burflict, and even the Titan's McCarthy (on injured reserve this season) didn't have great 40 times.

4.7 is plenty fast enough for an SEC MLB

His 4.7 would look a lot better in the SEC than the Big 12. He'd certainly help against a lot of the downhill runners in this league than the pass happy conference.

I feel ya but I think Jancek keeps AJ out of coverage much better than Sal or Wilcox did honestly. Still haven't figured out why we have seen Maggitt and Barnett in coverage this season.

Denzel Perryman is a 4.7-4.8 lb who is projected as 1st or 2nd round pick. 40 time is overrated for mlb. Shuttle time is what most NFL teams use over 40 times.

I've noticed a few times where they flatten out and guard a slot in the boundary. Just not a good match up but I understand the mix up from Jancek. I'd feel much better if it was a TE. That's all.

Has Hubbs or any of the VQ guys said for sure one way or the other if we are or aren't still recruiting Cherry? I know he's waivering but are we still on him or just moved on to Kirkland?

Almost 100% sure that the VQ guys have said we ceased contact with Cherry.
