Elijah Sindelar - 2012 Football - Sophomore QB #2 - Caldwell County HS - Princeton, KY - YouTube

Currently has UK as his leader. This kid is the real deal. Runs and throws extremely well. Runs a similar offense that the Vols are running right now. Very under-recruited in a pretty rural part of the state. Plays 2A ball in Kentucky. When compared to Drew Barker, he runs better and probably throws better. 4.0 GPA kid and a three-sport star.

*Coach Mike Bajakian stopped by the school on Friday 10/11/13 to visit with Sindelar.*

I have to admit - he looks pretty good to me but I am not sure about the competition -- he appears to have some exceptional receivers for a small school.

I think you are correct that he would fit our offense.

The competition isn't the best, but the kid can flat out play. You won't find too many QBs in the 2015 class that has this much talent running and throwing the football.

I'm not trying to push this guy on UTs radar and I'm not sure how much legit interest there is here, but if he is good enough to warrant a coach's visit, he warrants a thread.

I'll be keeping an eye on him to see how his recruitment progresses. He recently stated that UK leads, but interest us picking up from other schools, mainly Ohio State.

It would be easy to say small school, weak competition, but he has good footwork, good arm strength, puts the ball in very good spots, much better foot speed than most big qb's no doubt because he is playing basketball and baseball - I am a casual observer but you don't see many high school sophomores ( the video I watched ) that look like he does. Just from the film - he looks very good.

We need to be visiting his school imo.

My partner at work has been telling me about this kid for months. I just showed him this thread and got an I told you so. He said he has ice water in his veins come crunch time.

He is a relative unknown. I'm not sure what his status us on attending camps, but i honestly believe he will explode on the scene next summer. Scout (not the best, i know) has him rated as the No. 8 Pro Style QB in the 2015 class.

According to Rivals, UK is his only offer so far. Not surprising that they're leading.
It'll be interesting to see where he ends up rated, as he does have a nice list of suitors.

I may make the trip thru bumpus mills to come watch him play. Everyone I know from Cadiz and the surrounding area are all saying he's the best they've seen.

I'm impressed. Perhaps he needs to transfer to a larger school/class so he can get the proper exposure. Needs to attend some of the recruiting service camps next summer.

The kid looks really special to me. What jumps out to me from his film is his innate ability to know exactly how much mustard to put on the ball when he needs it an then alternatively he can put it up softer than bag of donuts on those deep balls. Also, he's a natural athlete with legit running skills, and you can't teach that.

That won't happen in this situation. Also, I'm not so sure that is the greatest thing in the world to do in regards to high school football. Basketball, yes. Football, No. He is a QB that has built chemistry with his team over the last umpteen years and I imagine it would be difficult to accomplish the same results at a new school in 2014 IMO.

I do agree the kid needs more exposure and I hope the Vols get more involved here. The interest is there.

Danny Parker ‏@TheDannyParker 2h

Admittedly hard when grading QBs but Elijah Sindelar just made the best prep-level throw I've seen w/ a right-hander running to his left.

*Caldwell County was playing the #1 1A school in KY, Mayfield. His team won 48-41.

Updated Stats through 9 games (tonight's game stats aren't included):

33 TDs / 2 Ints
135/209 for 2,265yds - 65% Completion Percentage
35 rushes for 314 yds - Avg 9yds/rush - 5 TDs

Kid is originally from Ohio. Doubt Ohio State offers but like you said his recruitment really is about to takeoff. Like you alluded to, he loves UK right now. He's going to need a redshirt once he gets to college but you're looking at a 6-5/220 pound gunslinger with an incredible arm when he is in college. UT needs to offer.

He will need to work on several intangibles as he progress through the playoffs this year, over the spring and summer, and his senior year at QB before he can ultimately garner the elite offers. Only time will tell. My interest in him as a prospect doesn't necessarily mean he deserves an offer from the Vols, but rather my hope that the coaching staff gets more of an in-depth evaluation on him. It will be interesting to see how he develops.

UT needs to jump on this player. He looks like a beast. If he continues this sort of play he's going to get a lot of good offers.

Four-star quarterback Elijah Sindelar is also nearing a decision. The Caldwell County signal caller has offers from Kentucky, Mississippi, Toledo and Western Kentucky. The Tennessee Volunteers also intrigue Sindelar.

“It’d mean a lot (to get an offer from Tennessee),” Sindelar told Inside Tennessee’s Danny Parker. “Tennessee’s close. I like them. They’re doing really well.”

My friend up there in Princeton told me about this kid. Said he is a beast. He's friends with the family and said the kid loves the thought of being a Vol. My friend is mad is because he is a KY fan haha
