'15 JUCO RB Alvin Kamara (UT commit 6/21/14)

I don't know why any one with the staple position of RB would choose to go to Alabama. Seems like a waste of ones career to me. You could be the featured back of your own offense and take a team to the SEC conference championship on your back or perhaps maybe even a BCS. And yet you choose to go where OTHER people who the position already are. Don't understand that logic myself. If everyone thought like that, Alabama would have 25 RB's while the rest of us SEC teams got leftover scraps. Hope Jabo runs all over their defense next year.

They had two 1000 yard rushers with one being a true freshman. What RB wouldn't want to play in an offense that runs the ball all game every game? Then they have an aggressive running game that hits you in the mouth. People wonder why LSU, Bama, Florida, and Georgia can get RBs while our high flying offense can pull WRs like it's nobody business.

TW-do you really think all 4 of these kids will play running back @ Alabama especially with Thomas coming in next year. Three of these 4 will simply be small ducks in a big pond IMO.

not TW, but Kamara was recruited as an athlete/slot. Thats how Bama sees him right now regardless of what others think. Now he will probably get his shot at RB so that could change. He will actually see the field sooner than later since he could be a returner. Burns (rb coach) likes Henry at RB plus spring practice hasnt started yet so dont pay any attention to these rumors of him getting moved to LB. If things dont pan out, he will get moved to H-back. The LB position is deep with more skilled and established players so it wouldnt make sense to move him there when he could play earlier on offense somewhere. I think Tenpenny is the one who could get left out because he doesnt seem to have the awareness or feel for the game as the others.

Im high on Rock Thomas as well and probably a little bias when it comes to him since we are from the same area but I think if he signs and comes in and learns how to block and pickup the scheme quickly he has the ability to pass all of them, imo.

I see Fowler moving to FB if he returns, Hart I think will up transferring because the injuries may be to much for him to catch up, Henry will end up at HB, Kamara slot, leaving Drake, TP, and Jones to battle it out for #2 &#3. Thomas may get RS his freshman year with the current depth and we will probably only take 1 RB in 2014. If Thomas RS his next year Yeldon will be gone. Again just my opinion.

Well K Davis and M Lattimoore thought the same thing. Decided to both be the feature back at Ark and USC. Both got injured and neither team won the SEC. Just saying. Depth provides longer shelf life.

Such a cop out. Injuries happen, depth or not. All depth provides is reliable back-up plans. You can have 15 quality RBs, you are still only gonna really use 2.

Call it a cop out all you want but the fact is that it is what is helping UA get these RBs. Everyone mentioned that they like the idea of not getting beat up and having to carry the ball 90% of the time. So you keep telling these RBs come to UT and they will be the feature bcak and carry the rock 90% of the time.

In the end it is not a cop out but facts. Rival fan bases love to point out RB depth a UA and even rival coaches did about how if they want to get to the league they need to be a feature back and at UA they would ride the pine. But it really has no value anymore, because UA continues every year to have a RB get drafted and teams that have these so called feature RBs are getting hurt. So call it what you want but facts are facts and the RBs keep coming.

Agreed on Hart and Fowler. I will take a wait and see approach on Henry. Its obivous that the coaches arent sold on all the backs that were already on campus to be featured because they wouldnt have taken 3 rbs (excluding kamara because of his recruited position) this last class. I hope they only take 1 back this year.

Btw, I wouldnt be surprise if kamara gets his shot at RB and jump up the depth chart. He was alot better back his SR year compared to his JR year. He is also bigger, so taking the pounding is less of an issue. Should be fun to watch how everything pans out.

You don't have to admit that injuries happen with or without quality depth, but they do. Your RBs have been very lucky on the injury front recently, but it's going to happen.

Adrian Peterson was a feature back in college, heck, Jamal Lewis was a feature back for us, had an injury his last year, and was still a top 5 draft pick.

You can try and fool yourself into thinking that your "system" of "protecting" RBs is why they are coming in, but the fact is because Saban is the best recruiter in the country, you are the hottest team in the country, and you are able to stock pile talent. That is all.

Its actually a combination of some things both of yall have said. Saban's ability to recruit, Bama being the hot school, and kids willingness to play in a 2 back system because of the life shelf of RBs(how many RBs last over 30 years old?).

The common thing that all these kids have said is that they are not scared of competition. There is really no argument regarding " the system" because the kids have said it themself that the system was a major reason they chose Bama.

The good thing for UT is the fact that teams like Bama wont stockpile on backs in 2014 which seems like a great year for backs, so thats one less program to go head to head with. UGA and AU are probably the 2programs that UT will have to worry about regarding some big time backs especially since their is a few solid ones in GA this year.

Since I do not have a dog in the fight because I am not from the state of AL I am curious. Do you actually believe that to be real? I assume you understand what the Onion is. The Onion for the most I find entertaining.

The real funny part of it is the company(Hill+Knowlton) they are pretending to be in the video. It is the same company the tobacco companies for PR and they created a campaign that said smoking did not cause lung cancer.

Did you attend Alabama? How are you a fan? Just curious.

Most of these idiots are bandwagon fans and haven't even lived in the third world state of Alabama, much less gone to school there. They have " just always been a bama fan"

Funny isn't. Just like living most of my life in WNC when UT is winning Power T flags flying and on cars, now no where to be seen.

But I would take a bandwagon UA fan than all the so called UT fans that bash their team, the staff, and the players.
