Why is is so hard for people to understand that most of these kids are used to being coddled to an extent and constantly told how great they are. So when they see negative posts on a message board, or get negative tweets, yeah it DOES stick out in their mind and it DOES influence their decision. You may not like it, and it shouldn't really make a difference, but to a lot of these recruits it does make a difference.
There could be a thousand positive posts in a thread about a kid but that one negative one could be the one that sticks out in their mind. As an adult, that may not make any sense to you. But we aren't talking about adults.
And a lot of times the parents take as much or more offense than the recruits. And think about it, what parent wants to EVER see, hear or read anything bad about their kid??
Bottom line that I feel like is ridiculous to have to repeat sooooo much. If you have a negative opinion about a kid keeping your d@mn mouth shut can't possibly hurt a thing, but running your mouth can certainly hurt.
