'15 JUCO RB Alvin Kamara (UT commit 6/21/14)

On whether the door is completely closed to a potential return to the NFL: "I keep saying it but y'all don't believe it, so it doesn't matter if I say it or not. I had a guy at my last press conference ask if the door was closed. How many times do I have to close the door? The damn hinges are worn out."

Miami says hi! :hi:

When is his OV to TN? Isn't it this weekend? I remember MzT saying he was giving us one but couldn't remember exactly when it was??? Don't know why I was thinking it was this weekend? Her and Croom are probably the biggest reasons he is looking this way but once they are on campus... :clapping:

From Tidesports -

Alvin Kamara, four-star running back from Norcross High School in Ga., had an outstanding senior season. He was also terrific in the Under Armour All-America game. Kamara has been a top priority for Alabama despite commitments from three other highly rated prospects at the position. He will choose between Alabama and Georgia.

It's what makes him the very best that's ever coached. Seriously I think he has surpassed Bear because its harder to do what he has done now than in that era.

Ya I'm so sick of hearing how he hasn't passed Bear. College football is much harder now, to win 3 of 4 today is the greatest accomplishment ever.

I want to believe that Kamara has privately been committed to UT and just wants to enjoy the process then laugh at two of our biggest rivals on signing day. It could happen, right? :)

Hmm, seems like he has said that before...

Saban Will Stay in Miami

They would be smart to not overlook TN like they are. I wasn't confident all year but I feel pretty good about our chances after a few things have happened such as hiring butch jones, recruiting him extremely hard, and now childhood friend Jenkins committed has sealed the deal on a visit we tried so hard to get

Rusty Mansell is saying Kamara canceled his visit and eliminated Tennessee

"After speaking with Alvin Kamara on Friday morning it seems what most have known for a while. He is down to two schools.
It was looking like Kamara would visit Tennessee this weekend, but he told on Friday 'not anymore.' I asked him if Georgia and Alabama would be on the two schools he would visit he replied 'yea probably.' He should have visits set up soon between the two SEC schools, who are also looking to get the last visit."

Since he's not coming to Tennessee, I am fine wih him going to Georgia or Alabama. All he will do is pad their class rankings. He will sit on the bench at those two schools as they will continue to recruit other backs over him for the next few years. He would be starting at other SEC schools. Wish he would have come here.

Clueless post, Kamara is the type of back that will not ride the bench anywhere.

This is very contradictory. He was never coming this weekend.

Not clueless at all. I said he would start at any other SEC school, just not Ga or Bama. Are you saying he will start over the running backs there.

All these bench riding comments for his career are comical. We are a bad team right now, with a new coach. All these big time guys will come with time. Once what coach Butch is selling translates to the field, we will reap the rewards. Not until then though.

I agree with you. He won't start over their returning rbs and anyone who thinks otherwise I believe is mistaken.

Will he start next year? No, but he would not just ride the bench as you clearly stated. He would however see his fair share of snaps, as those programs have shown that they will share the ball between multiple rbs if you are good enough. A back like Kamara will certainly see numerous snaos every game right off the bat wherever he goes.
