'15 JUCO RB Alvin Kamara (UT commit 6/21/14)

Maybe so. It would make things interesting that's for sure. I just don't see why a RB would want to be the feature back at Arkansas over Alabama. Isn't Saban one of those people who pulls offers if you take an OV somewhere else? Maybe I'm getting him mixed up with someone else.

He has a least likely chance to be the featured back at Bama to be honest. Arkansas is no where near as deep. Saban doesnt pull offers but he will shop and have a backup plan in place if a commit looks around and takes visit. Something all coaches should do because these kids flip schools way too much nowadays. I know Dabo and Paul Johnson use to tell recruits that they will pull their scholly. I think Dabo has had a change of heart on that though. Dont know why Johnson started telling recruits that in in the 1st place. He coaches at Georgia Tech but acts like he is at UGA/Bama/UF or some other top notch school.

Yeah, unfortunately we haven't won much at all since 07. That's 6 years ago. 6. Most of the recruits were like 12 or 13 at the time...

Six years is a long time to us fans, and you're right about a lot of these recruits being fairly young when we were relevant.

However, UT is still on national TV almost every time we play real D1 opponents. The media, broadcasters, etc., are old folks like us so they remember and still see UT as a major player in CFB, so we get plenty of publicity.

And, even though these kids may not grow up as college fans of UT, they certainly know some pros that have been here.

This is not an either/or issue with Kamara and Green. We need both and probably another as I do not see a SEC back on our roster. And to be honest, I would take 2-3 a year until we start seeing backs like Lewis, Henry, Stephens, Houston, Riggs, Stewart, Graham, etc in our backfield.

Kamara and Green would put us well down that path, I believe.

People here in little rock who are tuned into program are convinced that Bielma/Chaney are going to flip Tenpenny to Arkansas with Knile Davis' departure. I think I saw that he was taking an official to Ark this month.

His OV to Ark has been scheduled since August. He was already planning on taking it even before the new hire and when Smith was still the coach. And the instate always has to be considered a threat.

Being on national TV so much the past 6 years has hurt us. We get the beatdown every time.

This isnt regarding Kamara but it shows how ESPN will just make up something just for people to read.

Assisntant Coach Tom Horton's decision to leave Alabama for Auburn was disconcerting for Altee Tenpenny, but not enough to shake his commitment.

The ESPN 150 tailback from North (Ark.) Little Rock expressed concern on Twitter when Horton decided to leave the Crimson Tide. Horton was Tenpenny's primary recruiter at Alabama. When Tenpenny was asked about the move on Twitter, he responded with another tweet.

"No I have NOT decommitted..!!! I'm still going to Alabama..!!!" he tweeted.

Tenpenny's high school coach, Brad Bolding, confirmed as much to ESPN late Friday. Bolding said Horton's departure wouldn't affect Tenpenny's commitment at all but added, "Tenpenny was disappointed that coach Horton didn't stay."

Tenpenny has more connections to Alabama than just Horton. Bolding said his star tailback has a strong relationship with Alabama head coach Nick Saban and running backs coach Burton Burns. Bolding also said that Tenpenny wouldn't be interested in following Horton.

"He wouldn't go to Auburn," Bolding said.

Tenpenny couldn't be reached for comment, as he is participating in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Saturday. Bolding is with Tenpenny in San Antonio for the game.

The problem with this is that Horton left Arkansas for AU, not Bama, so that lets us know that he didnt even interview Coach Bolding.

Dave Hooker is a joke...it says alot about ESPN's recruiting coverage that he is on their staff and considered the "insider" for UT...

You should ignore everything he writes regarding recruiting

Although it's not every time, we have had our fair share of embarrassing moments on TV. However, I still believe it's better than the alternative.

Anyhow, whatever it needs to be to get AK, I hope that's what it is.

If anyone had an apt comparison of AK would it be Marshall Faulk? It seems like I could see AK splitting out wide and being the type whom would make positive yardage each time he touches the ball.

He reminds me of Edrin James but don't take my word for it . I've been informed my evaluations are fos.

As much as I would like for her to help there she isn't going to do that. It's not her responsibility it's the coaching staff's.

+1

I seriously doubt she would want to try and force a kid where he does not feel comfortable. Having to deal with that if it did not work out would be awful. I have no doubt she is giving him information and telling him to take his time and do what is best for him.
