'15 JUCO RB Alvin Kamara (UT commit 6/21/14)

With the orange-tinted shades taken off, I seriously think that AK fits very well in our offensive scheme. He can run the ball between the tackles, can get to the edge, and best of all, he is great out of the backfield catching the football.

UT should be pretty enticing for an all purpose back this year... all three of UT's backs can catch the ball and I think we will see a lot more of it this year... somewhat like the UGA game when lane ate up some yds off of rec.

Ok, I gotcha. Yeah, I don't blame you for keeping a low profile on here then. In regards to the RB situation, I think pulling just one of Kamara, Henry, Green, et al. would suffice fine, but I think if the coaches know they can pull two of those guys (including Turman, Folston, Williams, etc.), then I think they take two.

We need two with Bourque crapping out

Picture a considerably larger and stronger D Young -- able to cut on a dime, fast enough to rarely (if ever) be caught from behind, but strong enough to break tackles. In addition to being an elite RB, Kamara is also big enough to block in pass protection and he can be used either as a receiver out of the backfield or he can be shifted to either the slot position or even out to WR.

Alvin is an elite and highly versatile athlete, who would fit perfectly in our offense. I continue to believe he is likely to choose Tennessee on NSD because no other top tier team can offer him the opportunity that we do. We will have a vastly improved OL which will convincingly demonstrate that they are now highly proficient in both pass protection and run blocking.

For Kamara, the depth chart at RB will be very favorable for both him and either Green or Henry, giving Tennessee a pair of elite backs that complement each other -- a fast, strong and shifty bruiser who is also a great receiver (Kamara) and a bigger, stronger, fast bruiser who can grind out the tough yards .

So whats going on with him? All I've read is other poster's best guess on the situation.

There's a lot more to his situation than just being a young father. Not anything illegal but the kid has got a lot on his plate right now. And posters bashing him would probably STFU if they knew what was what.

Yeah I looked through his thread and theres alot of garbage being spewed. Same thing with Camion. Idiots dogging him because of his grades. Let the situation play out. If he gets in great if not I am sure DD and company are way ahead of the game and have back up plans. Don't bash the hell out of the kid cause of his grades maybe he isn't that bright. See Edrick Loften. It's his future going down the drain not anyone else's.

This. Oregon could prob get him in space better than any other team. I enjoy watching them play. I just hope we pull 2 elite backs we're after. I could almost care less which.

I'm with you on that one..Definitely not selective b/c from what I've read, any of them would be a good fit for the Vols.:dance2:

SIAP

247 interviewed him yesterday. Says he's been telling everyone that he will decide in September, but that's "just a feeling." Not set in stone by any means.

When talking about UT, he referenced Croom, and he likes CDD. Thinks he's a great guy. Also said UT is staying in touch.

He talked about his attendance at DawgNight and he's close friends with Wiggins and Tray Matthews.

He still likes Bama, and they're recruiting him hard as always. He realizes that two RBs are committed, but he knows that you have to compete to get better.

Sounds like a VFL to me! :) Just a feeling that TN will be kicking tail in September, which will help solidify AK's gut feeling about where he wants to go to school.
