'15 JUCO RB Alvin Kamara (UT commit 6/21/14)

I think he should definitely be up there. My dream is if we could pull Derrick Green/Tyshon Dye and Kamara as the APB. Getting two big time, but different backs could really help us.

Not sure what the deal is with Tyren Jones, but Green/Dye and Kamara would be a great combo. What I like most is that Kamara has some filthy speed but he isnt a scat back.

Mzterry, how does AK feel about Bama? I'm sure the letters made an impression...

Alvin is a humble kid, and he's just enjoying the ride right now. Nobody is his favorite. I'm going to bring Alvin with me in a few weeks when we come up to hang around practices.

He needs to soak up all that he can in his recruitment by all these schools. Take his time and be sure of his commitment no matter what school he chooses. As a fan I would obviously would like to see him come to UT but I would still like him to be sure that UT is where he really wanted to be.

Do prospects give Rivals a better highlight tape than the ones they put on youtube? Because his rivals tape shows his real speed. He's got in your face face brutal speed.

I dunno but I didn't realize how fast he was till I saw his rivals tape as well.

a blurb in today's ESPN rumor central blog says Kamara committed to UF this weekend.

The Florida Gators had a tremendous weekend landing six verbal commitments during the team's junior day. Two of the commits, Kelvin Taylor (Belle Glades, Fla./Glades Day) and Alvin Kamara (Norcross, Georgia/Norcross), are running backs. A third running back has set his sights on the Gators.

He's visiting UGA this weekend

He should visig evrry school that he could have some interest, even UGA, hell it would be crazy for him not to go up there...it's in our backyard, but at the end of the day, week, yr...douby if Alvin stays local. It would have to be some hell of guarantees floating.JMO

never fully understood this until I watched us play Ohio State a few years ago in the NCAA tourney. I forgot who was commentating, but they clearly wanted UT to lose.

I think that was CBS coverage. CBS wants us to lose.

Still a fact..At this point The University of Tennessee needs a big time running back more than any other of the traditional SEC powers. Except for UF. That's gotta give us pause in AKs case..right?

RB Alvin Kamara: The speedy Kamara, who plays at Norcross (Ga.), had one offer when the year began and now has nine. Included in that group are SEC schools Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi State and Tennessee. The Gators became the most recent to pull the trigger last Saturday, doing so not long after securing a second running back commit for the class of 2013. Although Kamara is an excellent back, one thing that makes him particularly attractive is that he also could potentially play receiver. Alabama likes him so much the Tide sent Kamara 105 letters on the same day recently.
