'15 JUCO RB Alvin Kamara (UT commit 6/21/14)

If he bolts for Philly, this will be a rough recruiting season for Oregon. Especially now that they may be going through an NCAA investigation.

Yep. Plus, if it is an NFL hire, you're talking about a three week window to hire a coach and complete a class. Ducks would be in trouble.

Yea he's got the right to follow any team he wishes for whatever reason but I think his answer puts a little perspective into his fandom. You use to see a 10 to 1 UT gear around Ktown now it's more like 10 to 1 Alabama garb. Seems many chose to cheer for whomever is hot.

I dealt with it in the Corps. My unit was getting deployed 2 days after the 92 NC game vs Miami for Somalia. It seemed everyone was a Miami fan, funny seeing how the majority of them were from everywhere other than the south. All I heard was the U this the U that. But they did not enjoy it the next 6 months over there.:)

at oregon he could play slot wr and rb like d. thomas

i dont think their mentioned much tho with 2 guys already commited

It seems Kamara likes to hang out with UGA recruits.

Actually most reports are that he is hanging out with OJ Howard(UA Commit).

Alvin Kamara said he's been hanging out with Howard the most off the field

Sort of hard to not talk to Wiggins when he is staying in the same room.:)

Still think he ends up at UGA.

Alvin Kamara is high on Alabama and Georgia. However, Tennessee is starting to put on the pressure. The idea of being a feature back for the Vols may be intriguing to Kamara, but they have some work to do to catch up with the 'Dawgs and the Tide. USF has tried to contact him as well.:hi:

Kamara is very good in the open field. He flashes a great burst and acceleration when hitting the hole. The Rivals250 prospect has above-average hands and is a reliable pass-catching threat out of the backfield. He shows good vision and can bounce to the edge with ease.

From Rivals about Tuesday UA practice

Agreed. Better chance to actually play RB there.

Kamara has been my favorite back in this class for a while. Great size and frame to add to, always looking to get north - south, can be put anywhere on the field, and has truly elite speed. Hope we get a visit and can make some moves.

Not true. He would play very early.

What? 3 carries a game? Answer this: will he play more in his 1st 3 years at UT, UGA, or Bama? If playing time is what the major factor is, he just needs to make sure he likes Knoxville and the new coaching staff.

These kids are not afraid of competition. They think that they are the greatest thing since sliced bread. Thats why they continue to flock to play for Alabama, Georgia, and other schools.

Playing time at a school that is not on top is not as enticing as many seem to think.

Why do you assume that UT has limited talent at RB position and Kamara would just walk in as the starter.

Neal and Lane are very good backs. Neal was getting better towards the end and Lane looks very talented to me.

There will be competition everywhere every year.

Especially at RB when playing in the SEC. I would rather be part of a rotation than to be the featured back. See Lattimore.

Lane and Neal are decent backs. Kamara type talent comes in and steals some of their carries. Marshall and especially Gurley are special. Give UGA credit for pulling that talent.

To the other post, I know that these kids think they're the greatest and aren't scared of the competition, but if we are talking freshman RB playing time in the SEC, we are near the top.

Kid reminds me of Derrick Tinsley type back... Same build, ability in open field, and could play in the slot some as well. Would be a versatile piece for Jones to use in his offense hope we get him
