What did ever happen with Chris Pool? He seemed so pumped to report on our recruiting...and then he was never heard from again...Jimmy Hoffa-esque IMO

I kinda feel like someone needs to file a missing persons report, but I'm not real sure.

Someone merked him after he suggested that Hurd would probably get moved to TE.

The four trips he knows he'll take are to South Carolina, Alabama, FSU and Southern Cal, though he didn't rule out visiting other programs.
Jones admittedly likes the opportunity South Carolina would provide to get back closer to home.
Jones is also getting to know his new teammate, defensive end Dante Sawyer who signed with the Gamecocks in 2014 and enrolled at East Mississippi last week in an effort to be in Columbia by 2015.
Sawyer was sitting in the room with Jones when he spoke with 247Sports Sunday. Have the two discussed the possibility of playing together at the next level?
"We have, we have -- several times," Jones said. "It's a very high chance [that happens] being that its my home state. It's about an hour and 20 minutes from my house. It's not that bad of a ride for family and that's No. 1 on my list."
Alabama: "Just winning. I mean I don't want to go somewhere and lose. I'm not a loser. Of course I want to go somewhere and win and have a chance to play for a conference title and have a chance to play for a national title."
Southern Cal: "I talked to the coach, he was at Mississippi State, coach (Chris) Wilson, and he went to Southern Cal, and he kept up with me. Knowing him, pulled me that way a little bit."
Florida State: "There's a high chance they can win the ACC every year. They won the BCS and they're bringing in and putting out [talent] every year."
Jones has a number of factors that will go into his final decision.
"Breaking down the depth chart and seeing my position, the inside guys, and seeing who's going to be there and who won't," he says. "Who they're bringing in. That's really just me right there. Location is not a factor. A good coaching staff [is a factor]."
Jones plans to cut his list to 10 schools during the summer, five halfway through the season and make a final decision in December.
"I'm really not sure [who leads] because all the schools have shown the same amount of interest," Jones says. "I haven't been on any kind of visits. I talk to most of the head coaches or assistant coaches from all of them. So nobody is really standing out to me right now."

Didn't our staff help this guy get into school? It seems he would at least give us a visit if that was the case.

From a 2/12 article...

"They really wanted me out of high school. They showed a lot of interest but I just couldn't get in (to school)," Jones explained. "It was coach (Jay) Graham when he was still there, but now I talk to coach (Butch) Jones and coach (Steve) Stripling."

"I know it's a family oriented place and a great place to play," Jones said. "A lot of greats have come out of there. They are on the come-up. It will be on my final list."

Along with Tennessee, Jones, who recorded 49 tackles and eight sacks last year for the Lions, said Oklahoma State recruited him in high school and is continuing to recruit him. Right now he lists a top five of Florida State, Tennessee, Alabama, South Carolina and Ole Miss.

Jones added he knows he's going to take an official visit to Tennessee, likely in the fall to get a feel for the atmosphere, and said it has meant a lot to him that the Vols helped him get to EMCC and never gave up on him.

Dante should worry about getting good grades or he won't be playing anywhere but JUCO.

It's early and Butch Jones is involved. We beat them on the field in '13 and took their #1 RB as our 3rd RB in '14. I'm not scared of USCjr.

D.J. Jones was recruited by Tennessee out of Wren High School in Piedmont, S.C., and he has heard plenty from the Vols since he arrived at East Mississippi Community College in Scooba, Miss., last year.

Four-star defensive tackle D.J. Jones of East Mississippi Community College in Scooba, Miss., is ranked the nation's No. 1 junior-college prospect in the 247Sports Composite.
But he’s now being pursued by a number of other teams.
The four-star freshman defensive tackle has emerged as one of the nation’s top junior-college prospects in the 2015 class, with scholarship offers from more than 10 major-conference programs, including Tennessee, South Carolina, Florida State, Alabama and Southern California.
“To tell you the truth, I don’t even know the (offer) count,” said Jones, who’s ranked the nation’s No. 1 junior-college player in the 247Sports Composite, which equally weighs prospect rankings and ratings from major recruiting media outlets.
It’s still relatively early in the recruiting process for the 6-foot-2, 305-pound Jones, who’s hoping to graduate from East Mississippi in December and enroll at the college of his choice in January. But he said he’s already planning to visit South Carolina, Florida State, Alabama and Tennessee, perhaps as early as this summer.
“I wouldn’t say (I have any leaders) because I don’t know,” he said. “I haven’t even gotten the chance to be on anybody’s campus.”
Jones said he has remained a high priority for Tennessee since he arrived at East Mississippi last year, and he’s hoping to visit the Vols at least once in the coming months.
“(They have said) just keep them in mind — because they know I’ve been talking to all these coaches in the past few months — keep them in mind, and I am. They’ll be with me,” Jones said. “I haven’t been there (to Tennessee) yet. We’re setting that up. We’re getting that together now.
“I’ll probably do something during the summer — probably an unofficial during the summer — and then I’ll take an official visit during the season.”
Jones said he knows at least one of Tennessee’s current players — sophomore defensive end Jaylen Miller, a former standout at Gaffney (S.C.) High School — and he likes what he has heard about the Vols from coach Butch Jones, defensive line coach Steve Stripling and offensive graduate assistant Anthony Parker.
“I know that it’s a great place. I’ve had people tell me it’s a great place,” D.J. Jones said. “I went there when I was young. We went on vacation to Tennessee, and I know it’s a nice place, a family-oriented environment.
“I know they’re on the come-up. I know that. t’s a great place. What they tell you is what’s going on. It’s a family place, and they love the game of football.”
He said he’s hoping to gradually narrow the list of schools he’s considering, perhaps to 10 by this summer and then to five finalists sometime during his upcoming sophomore season. But he said he doesn’t plan to decide on a college until December.
Jones said he at least has an idea, though, of what he’s hoping to find.
“Distance from home doesn’t matter to me, but allowing my family to see me play does,” he said. “I mean, TV, of course, that’d be fine. They don’t have to be at my games, and they know that. (I want a) family-oriented environment (and a) good team — just knowing that they put linemen in the league. At the end of the day, that’s my top priority.”

Clemson offered. According to an article on Clemson Rivals he grew up in Clemson for a time and his father owned a restaurant there. He'll be home in SC for spring break next week and said he might swing by Clemson for a visit.

Would be nice if we could get him to Knoxville next week for a practice.
