Who else does UT have that is as talented as him?
Look at the guys we signed at LB in the last class. Bryant had excellent measurables and lateral speed but still needed time to get acclimated to playing in the SEC.
Guys that have been in the program, know the defense, and may not be as gifted physically as he but are WAY ahead of him as far as getting PT goes.
You never wanna rely on true freshman unless you have to. While he adds important depth, I doubt he starts over JRM, Bryant, and other options that have in game experience.
Will be start eventually? Yes, but if you really believe he walks on campus with the starting gig then pass me what your toking on.
-VQ.SAN ANTONIO --- On Sunday, the man who could well become the immediate future of Tennessee's middle linebacker position, four-star linebacker Darrin Kirkland Jr., will board a jet to Knoxville to begin his transition from High School All-America selection to midterm freshman at the University of Tennessee.
Kirkland closed his prep career out in style here Saturday at the Alamodome, helping lead the West defense in his squad's 39-36 win. Kirkland even had the decisive play, ending the East squad's hopes of a miracle rally with his impressive pursuit to kill a fourth-down play.
