Just watched his highlight film. I am not outright saying he is the second coming of AJ, but wow. He good.

I generally make fun of ESPN evals, but Kirkland's could have been word for word written about AJ out of high school or early in college.

Great wrap and drag tackler, good instincts, active and capable in short range, but struggles a bit shedding blocks and covering in space.

I'm no expert, but he appears to be better in space than Cherry IMO. Cherry is probably the better run stopper, but I think Kirkland is more well rounded.

I believe he is our starter at MLB next year. JJ needs more time playing real football and I feel like Bynum may not have what it takes to play in the SEC. Gavin Bryant is his biggest competition.

If he starts at MLB next year then he is truly special. That is such a hard position mentally to start as true freshman. I think he definitely could get into the rotation. I am going to be interested to see what happens at MLB. Do you slide JRM over? bates is another cerebral guy I could see playing that spot

Totally unrelated, but with Jackson decommitting, I think that = Phillips silent commit. Don't think the staff would part ways with Jackson, otherwise.
