'15 IN LB Darrin Kirkland Jr (UT Commit 12/15/14)

Darrin Kirkland Jr. has impressed not just athletically but with his football smarts, something his defensive coordinator and head coach both raved about last month when John and Austin were with them in Indianapolis, and a few days ago in San Antonio. Well, Kirkland already has shown a strong willingness to work off the field here, catching the attention of multiple members of the Vols' coaching staff with his dedicated work in the playbook.

This guy, Butcher and phillips were impressive in their interviews. Very confident in front of the spotlight already. Kirkland and Phillips just scream STAR

Dormady and JJ were also impressive from the offensive interviews.

I agree. I'd also add Sheriron Jones and Kahlil. I think all 4 are impressive young men who look as though they have what it takes to not only be great college football players, but also great pros.

Welcome...happy to give you your initial like. :hi:

thank you. just so you know how much excitement tennessee football has reignited in folks.

i'm a native tennessean who was a fan of the vols growing up in the late 90s/early 2000s. after all the struggles the last 10 years or so, I kinda zoned out and lost interest.

since the rise of joshua dobbs, the bowl victory, and the back to back top 5 recruiting classes, i don't think i've ever been more excited about college football as i am this upcoming season. i didn't even know about this site a couple of weeks ago, now i'm seeing myself on here almost every other hour looking for updates on recruits, reading about projections for depth charts next year, etc.

its crazy how much excitement this football team has rekindled in me and i'm sure many other fans.

Yeah, the comments were unnecessary. But, I kind-of get it. I have watched every flipping game since the mid-90s. Sometimes I talk to people that say they are Tennessee fans, and when I start talking about certain plays or players, they're like "oh, well, I really didn't pay too much attention to them this year."

TL;DR "I'm a bandwagon fan"

Folks like you are inevitable. Question, though:

In all honesty, have you ever worn Vandy, Georgia, Florida or Alabama gear?

I can almost guarantee you have.

Reignited Fanbase = Fans that couldn't stand to see our team and national status dimantled by idiots are now back in the fold

It doesn't mean that everyone who stopped paying attention is a bandwagon fan. Quit smoking the agent orange.

Quoted because it's awesome.

Edit: So is DK Jr

I think it was around 2002 when I stated on a Vol mb these are the good ole days when fans were *****ing about 9 win seasons.

Now that we've cycled through and there's high school kids who don't remember when the Vols were good, the bandwagon can reload. I don't mind the apathetic ones as much as the ones who switch wagons or the Bama fans in middle Tennessee that couldn't find Tuscaloosa on a map, even if you pointed out which state was Alabama.

Wish I coulda done the same.. I'm just a glutton..

Wes Rucker put out "his predicted" starting lineups for the Vols on defense. He had Kirkland starting at Mike. Kinda surprised me. He said that Bynum was smart and tough. He had no mention whatsoever of Gavin Bryant.

I think it's only a matter of time before JJ moves back to DE.

Because JJ is so raw, we need to get him coached up by one of our best. I agree.
