'15 GA WR Preston Williams (UT Signee 2/4/15)

Hunter wasn't as great on the field as he was on paper. Meachem, Pickens, Pearless, the Future, and on and on were much better deep ball threats than Hunter.

I'm talking Soph Hunter. Right before the knee injury. Not after the knee injury. He was shaky after the injury.

Yeah I am too. He was good, but not as great as people like to pretend.

He went nuts as a freshman and started out on a similar but better trajectory his Soph season. With Bray and Chaney and playing from behind all the time he would absolutely deserve the laurels we think he was capable of...

But that dang knee...

Sophomore Hunter was just like Junior/NFL Hunter, he just got hurt before everyone could see how mentally weak and physically soft he was.

That may be a bit harsh actually. I've had teammates in college and friends that have competed in other sports that have gone down with ACLs. Some bounce back and some don't. I can tell you that the ones that didn't bounce back are not "mentally weak." The mere fact that you make a statement like that tells me you've never been through it. I wouldn't be so quick to judge.

You said you'd never heard of a 6-9 month recovery timeline... Now with Gurley and PWilly, that's 3. Typical?
No, but evidently not unheard of...

Now a 40 yr old wouldn't be able to do it, but an 18-25 yr old high end athlete is capable... And they are getting quicker and quicker every year in recovery time
I was talking typical timeline. Everyone knows AP is a robot. Maybe P Will and Gurley are as well. We will see. The mental challenge may be overstated, but I think it could come into play for both Gurley and Williams. I don't think either are 100%

I remember him coming back and attacking every ball thrown his way, catching it, then making the first guy miss.

All until that last comeback against Florida

I just hope it was a small tear which has healed 100%, and that he has practiced enough to strengthen the knee. I'd hate to see him re-injure it and possibly never come back 100%.

they wouldnt let him go out there and practice if they thought he couldnt handle it.

As an athlete in college that went down with a torn ACL, I agree with this statement. You only understand how hard it is when you've went through it yourself. An injury like that can take a huge toll on your mind and body. I made it back but then messed up my shoulder so I called it quits (for the first time in my life). Some make it back but some don't. Making it through that and rehab takes a mentally strong person IMO
