And is North really a baller? Is he top 5 performer in the conference? Honest assessment. He seems to get a pass on here for that one-handed grab.
I suppose you just completely disregarded where I mentioned that most of Azzanni's big fish have been injured. Smith, Pearson, and North, Croom.. a lot of these guys have had trouble staying on the field so it's hard to judge a complete body of work when your best players aren't on the field.
Try judging what he's done with the talent he's put on the field, and not the lack of what our sidelined superstars have done. JMO.

North's injury hurt his biggest asset last year which is going up and getting the ball in the air. He's not really a "make guys miss" receiver. He's a long ball, end zone fade receiver.
His injury + our OL's struggles + Jake's abysmal playcalling in the red zone hurt his stats. He'll be great this year and Dobbs' top target on the long ball.
I can see that. 👍🏻 From what I've seen what you posted is accurate about his game. Great RZ target and jump ball man.
My only guess was Thompkins. I just looked, and he didn't even get close.
Croom was a Dooley guy.
Did some research.
Central Michigan years:
Antonio Brown-2007 (1003 yards) and 2009 (1198 yards)
Cincinnati years:
Armon Binns-2010 (1101 yards)
Seeing that just makes me believe even more this system is not set up for big numbers for individual receivers. Only 2 have ever done it before, and 1 is the best receiver in the nfl at the moment (statistically).
I think North and Williams both have the talent to do so. I just don't believe this system sets them up for big numbers.
Croom is a really good WR. I admit he has hd some injuries which have restricted his play. I don't care who's guy he was/is. He is the best blocking WR on the team. Most of the other guys seem to be afraid to block. If all WR will block, it will be very difficult for other teams to stop our running game. If they don't block, our running game will be OK, but not great.
I'll be honest.... I'm a little concerned about our wide receivers this year and I have a sneaking suspicion that Azzani is a pedestrian coach. Hubbs reiterated on the radio this morning that the receivers had a hard time catching the ball this spring. Hoping just a little time on the machine this summer and with Dobbs will iron out that potentially devastating wrinkle in our offense.
Now someone talk me back from the ledge....
Please.

His best WRs weren't out there either.
Smith was hurt all Spring.
Howard was nicked up.
Croom and North were out.
How's he developed Howard and Smitb though in your eyes?
