'15 GA WR Preston Williams (UT Signee 2/4/15)

Just curious how you know Fergs is our best QB? The kids never taken a snap in an SEC game, or any college game for that matter. Everyone SWORE Peterman and or either FR HAD to be better than Worley last year in calling for his head. As it played out, the coaches had it right all along with Justin being the starter. Anyone who noted Fergs recruitment knows I was very much onboard with him and loved the fact he signed with UT. IMO he will have his chance to shine in Orange. Saying he is the best QB on campus IMO is a reach.

Those who know, know.

Just by watching his video from high school. He definitely has the best arm of the bunch. We need someone that can deliver the ball down the field, not someone that just manages a game. We needed a big time playmaker last year and It was even said last year that Fergy, not Dobbs, would have gotten the next chance last year had he not been injured. Also, when we went to Josh Malone' house last year he had concerns about what QB we had that could get him the ball downfield. It was Ferguson's tape that they showed Malone to seal the deal (not Worley, not Dobbs, and definitely not Peterman). When you don't have a QB that can make big plays you put too much pressure on your defense. We needed a proven winner and a big time playmaker. Although Ferguson has yet to have a chance to prove in a college game, that's all he did in high school was win.

I've seen the mention of Malone being shown film of Fergs during his recruitment. Might that have to do with him having just 1 year with Worley and up to 3 with Fergs/Dobbs? HS film and numbers are a show of talent. Much the same way Fergs put up great numbers, so did Dobbs, Worley, Peterman, and just about anyone UT has or would take to play QB. When you put a bunch of superstars on the field at WR, RB, and TE, IMO a kid who manages the game and does not make mistakes can prove to be a good plan. A 60 yard fade that lands in the WRs hands as he crosses the goal line counts for the same 6 points that an 8 yard slant thrown on time and the WR takes it the other 52 to the house.

I almost posted my "very early" predictions for the 2016 class and the names/spots breakdown yesterday. I figured I had better do a bit more research on instate talent as I did not have many on my list.

Oh, but it's coming! :)

As sure as the sun rises and sets, we know it's coming!

5* WR commit Preston Williams (@ThResort)

Tennessee vs Florida tomorrow #VolNation

He tweeted this out earlier..... wonder who he'll be pulling for......

Kinda seemed like he's twitter fishing VolNation to me. No big deal either way.

I know. Don't know what to think with this guy. I'm just going to continue to believe he is solid until proven otherwise. It could have easily mentioned both Volnation and the criminal college. But it didn't. Like I said, just trying to keep it positive , lol z

I'm fine with enjoying the process, but enjoy it as an uncommitted prospect. Adoree Jackson did it right. Regardless who he named as leaders, etc he was never committed until he was dead set on USC. Once you commit, you shouldn't play games and visit other schools.

If you wanna be single, live it up. If you're engaged, probably not cool to be testing the waters. That's just common sense. The definition of the word "commitment" gets completely lost in recruiting sometimes. Just don't commit until you're done with "the process". Ridiculous to say otherwise.

Kid may be all Vol today and is just enjoying the process. The problem is if your going to lose a commitment, it's always going to be one who is "enjoying the process" rather than 100% committed and recruiting 100% for his future school/program. I really hope Preston sticks as he is a future star. Anytime a kid is taking trips, he is at risk to flip. 180 grand in the old duffel bag can change a kids commitment in a heartbeat.

Couldn't agree more. You especially can't rep UT like he's done like crazy for months, wearing UT Orange from head to toe everywhere he goes to every camp, constantly tweeting he's 100% all Vol.... and then on a dime throw your recruitment wide open again, taking visits and apparently setting up things to go all Davonte Lambert on us.

Do it the right way. Even Hubbs and the VolQuest guys are saying this one will be interesting all the way til the day he actually signs. I don't get it. You're 100% right Dango. This is not the way to handle the process.

Mad?

Some of you guys are massive goobers haha. The kid repeatedly says he's all Vol and you guys don't believe him. Not sure what else you want him to do - but if it was your kid, you would want him to take the visits too. Trust in Butch and his recruiting. He hasn't let us down yet.

Nah. Just commenting on a "commit" saying things like ....

"Auburn is definitely in my top four," Williams told AuburnSports.com. "It's hard right now. They're all about the same right now.

"I am not going to take anymore visits until my official ones," he said. "And I'm not going to take those until I'm out of school like next January."

-Rivals

Said he will make his final decision on NSD.

I'll be as happy as anyone if this kid winds up at UT. I'm just saying there's a right way to do this. "Decommit" from UT and truly open it all back up. No harm, no foul. Enjoy the process, go see as many schools on as many visits as you want. No worries. Just don't say you're "100% All Vol" when your actions say otherwise.

Sincerely,
Massive Goober
