'15 GA LB Austin Smith (UT Signee 2/4/15)

I think Tuttle will be right behind if not on the same day as KMack

This seems logical. McKenzie is getting more press right now and I doubt CBJ wants there to be any rift between these two, particularly when each is already a force. A healthy, competitive rivalry between the two will be good but any jealousy, etc., could be bad for the team and their performance. We need them on the same page and working as a tandem for the good of the team not for individual accolades and treating them as equals will assist in fostering the right environment.

A stripe won't cause jealousy here. :) I think you're overthinking this one.

Yup...no trophy for everybody. If I were one of the players, I want my stripe off because I earned it, not just to be fair.

Each player has an upperclassmen mentor that decides when the stripe comes off. So really depends on the mentor deciding that it is time.

With that being said, both KMac and Shy Tuttle are looking great on the practice vids that I have seen. It could be simultaneously because they both deserve it.

I already thought he was a great athlete from his highlights but there is one of yesterday's practice videos showing some special teams block drills. Man what an athlete with great length.

I can't remember which video since I watched all of them in the FF thread Finger out together with everything on one page

He will certainly add a lot of athleticism at MLB. I think this guy has a ton of potential. At Buford last year they had no qualms about putting him out into slot coverage against other teams.

Per Hubbs

Even with the bumps, bruises and injuries of various severities, there still are bright spots like we’ve mentioned with Kirkland and Jennings, among others. Austin Smith in that grouping for sure. Numerous folks on campus this week indicated Smith would have ample chance to play significantly this season, and it was worth noting that while Bates was in a scout jersey early Thursday, the rookie Smith who just arrived this summer was not.
