'15 GA DE D'Andre Walker

Should be UT's to lose after today, but you never know with the way recruiting goes.

We might be getting Darrell Taylor tonight. That would effectively put an end to our recruitment of Walker.

I don't know about that. You really don't think they'd take both if they wanted to be Vols? Pass rushing DE's are at a premium for TN right now. They need a LOT of those type guys.

Hate to sound like LV but you just simply can't take everyone.

if we land Taylor and Tuttle today I think its Kyle Phillips or done on the Dline.

We can take every commitment you just can't sign them to LOI. The numbers will work themselves out, we will cull some after evaluation, some will also leave on their on. Evaluation is continuous with this staff.

Agree. If the staff thinks Walker is an upgrade from what they currently have in the fold and can get him then I'd expect them to continue pursuing him.

I think Taylor could also play a bit of linebacker ala Curt Maggit. That would kill 2 birds.

"Told tonight at D'Andre Walker's game that Tennessee leads for the #1 rated outside linebacker in Georgia. He will likely play defensive end in college. He needs to add weight, but has the SEC speed that you like to see. Tommy Thigpen was in attendance to see Walker."

Who is this Olb u speak of?

CBJ and this staff are a s@@@ storm in everyone's worst nightmare in terms of recruiting. This is unreal! It's like Christmas every day around here lately.

We have Ford already as a WDE. I think Walker and Taylor are both athletic enough to play OLB if we want them to. I could picture either one of them in the 6'4"-6'5" and 245 lb range and with enough speed and athleticism to play OLB. That just sounds nasty with what we will already have on the DL. If we end up getting Walker I think this is how it will work out. One as a true WDE, the other at the LEO position. That would also settle our need for another OLB.

Also with the level of talent we are still in on, I could foresee a few recruiting casualties.

Damn. This defense is going to be incredible.

Taylor is also a pretty good TE, so the staff may be looking at him as an Athlete, not specific to a position.

I wonder if we are going to be looking at some 3/4 packages. Both Tuttle and McKenzie have the ability to play on the nose with the O technique. We seem to be recruiting a lot of guys who have the ability to play OLB in that scheme. When we played it under Sunseri we didn't have the personnel to do it either on the line or at OLB.

Yes we are. We are going to see some hybrid looks going foward where we are in some bear fronts or even 2-4-5 fronts. Jancek likes running the 4-3 under a lot with Weatherd at SLB. That allows us to play our three best pass rushers at the same time in Veeren, Maggit, and Weatherd. We will never use a 4-0-4 front here IMO like Bama does. That's a 2 gap control defense where each DL has a 2 gap responsbility. Jancek seams to stick with 2-4-5 hybrid fronts, 4-3 under fronts, 4-2-5/3-3-5 fronts, 4-3 even fronts, 4-3 stack fronts, and 4-3 over fronts. The ability to play guys up and down on the line allows for hyrbid variotions wihin these fronts. Should be exciting going forward.

I was looking at tweet thread and Mathew Burrell tweeted about having a surprise Monday. Is this what he was talking about?
