At 6'2" 220lbs, I suspect he's being recruited as an OLB...not a DE.
I don't know why everyone keeps assuming Jackson is an OT. Haven't heard the coaches state anything of the sort. In fact, they can't by NCAA rules.Next Eric Fisher?
Not talking about lbs so much, even though that is still pretty slight. Maggit was also really light for a DE, and that's why he started at OLB. Now, he's working in a hybrid role. That's not unusual for DEs coming out of HS. He only needs to add about 20 pounds and that should be no problem imo. That beast of a pass rusher from oklahoma (Striker I think) was a safety listed at 6'1" 195 coming out of high school. At 6'2" Walker could play DE at 230-240 as a freshman imo and I'd say by his sophmore season he could easily be up to 250 which is plenty big enough for a pass rushing end.

I'm going to get blasted for this, but we have two assistant coaches on this staff who have never coached at a power five college until they came here, Mahoney and Elder. Now, Elder has proven he can recruit and coach TEs, maybe not so much STs but CBJ insists STs is a group effort, but IMO the verdict hasn't been reached on whether Mahoney can recruit and coach at the SEC level. I'm not trying to :horse: here, but we don't have any LT prospects outside Thomas. I think Jones and Kendrick stay at RT, Boulware may play T but is probably best suited at G, Hall is coming off a serious injury, and Jackson needs about 30+ pounds to even attempt to play T.
Oh crap, watch the second play on this highlight reel and try not to laugh and shake your head...
