“They had showed some interest. I was talking to Coach Gillespie before. But I was kind of surprised by the offer,” said Saint-Amour, who’s ranked the nation’s No. 14 weakside defensive end in the 2015 class by 247Sports.

“It’s one of those offers I actually wanted to have, and it’s close to my house and everything. I was really excited.”

“I like the program,” he said. “I love the program. They have the history — Peyton Manning, Reggie White, one of my favorite defensive ends. (The offer) made a big impression on me, football-wise and everything

He knows Ju'Wuan James because he was a friend of his brother's. He wants to be close to home, and he wants a place where he thinks he can see playing time by his sophomore year. He's a 4* on 247.

Nah. rote takes that award. Lol. (no offense rote - we love you)

This. I think if anyone has attempted to make a player thread they have done this. It's all good.

Elite Junior Classic Recruiting Notebook

Three-star Suwanee (Ga.) North Gwinnett linebacker Anree Saint-Amour recently picked up an offer Northwestern but said Tennessee is still the school recruiting him the hardest. He said the Vols are making the pitch for him to play a hybrid defensive end/linebacker position and are also teasing the opportunity to see the field early in his career. He added that Nebraska continues to be in touch and he plans on listening to what the Huskers have to offer and perhaps taking a visit this offseason.

Rivals says 3 star in that blurb but his profile shows he's not yet rated. Meanwhile, 247 has him as #77 overall, #8 WDE in the country.

Note on Saint-Amour from the Elite Jr Classic.

"Anree St.-Amour also played at end opposite Butcher and is a Vols target. St.-Amour showed some flashes and burst but must get stronger and more technical."

"I wanted to just come out here and perform well and see how I could do against some of the better guys," Saint-Amour told VolQuest.com. "This was a good opportunity to see how I stacked up."

"I want to get bigger, stronger, pretty much everything," said the 6-foot-2, 215-pounder. "It's a lot (of confidence after the classic)."

"I've talked with coach Gillespie and some of their other coaches," Saint-Amour said. "They've just told me they like me and would like me to come up to campus."

"I've heard a lot of good things about them, nice facilities and a lot of guys are talking about them," he said. "Yeah, I'd like to get up there."
