I will be at the Clemson camp next week,” Williams said.”I am trying to squeeze in a visit to Tennessee next week (also).”

A number of other visits will occur in June for Williams.

“Heading to Florida, Notre Dame and Michigan State later this month,” Williams added.

He will also be on the road in July.

“Florida State , Alabama, Ohio State, and Georgia next month,” Williams said.

Good player. Bring 'em on down, Butch.

SKILL ASSESSMENT: A legitimate two-way player, Williams is a standout defensive end and tight end on the high school level. He has nice explosiveness for his size and he's being recruited as both a tight end and defensive end.

STATUS WITH VOLS: Williams visited the Vols this summer and enjoyed the visit but everyone will be going against Florida State. Williams' father played at FSU in the 1980s and he's been to see the Seminoles play numerous times.

OTHERS INVOLVED: Florida State, Clemson, Florida, Auburn, Ohio State, Louisville, Vanderbilt

“i loved it[.] “the fans are incredible supporting the team. I know this has been a rough few years for tennessee, and those fans are still out there and giving their all for the team, and that was crazy to see. That was awesome. They told me a lot about the vol walk, and that was really cool seeing that. And then, also, just seeing how many seats are in that stadium. I’d never been in a game with that many people in it, so that was cool to be a part of. The crowd was loud, and they’re really dedicated to their team, so that’s cool.”

“it’s huge because it shows the direction that they’re going. They’re not going to stay where they’ve been the past few years. They’re going to keep going up, and i really feel like they’re going to have a great team, if not next year, the year after that. And they have a great recruiting class coming in next year. They’ve got some great commitments, and they’re really building a great program. Those coaches are great men, so i know tennessee is definitely blessed to have them leading that program.”

“i’d be lying if i said (my father playing at florida state) didn’t have any effect,” williams said. “but in the end, i’m going to go where my heart is and where god’s telling me to go and where his plan is for me to go. Right now, it’s really even with, like, a few schools — including tennessee — on my list right now. I’m really torn right now.

“i feel like i’ll probably (release a top five) after the spring or even in the spring,” he said. “but as of right now, the ones that i’ve really looked at are probably florida state, tennessee, clemson, possibly (north carolina) — i haven’t been there yet, so i’m not sure yet. I like auburn a lot. I like ohio state.

"I loved it and it was great to come back for game day and experience it and experience the fans and see the team and see how the fans stay behind the team," Williams said. "I'm excited to see how coach Jones turns the place around."

"Coach Elder is a great man, so is coach Jones, and they are running a great program," Williams explained. "Tennessee has the facilities, the academics, everything and they are in a great part of the country. Tennessee is beautiful. That's what keeps me talking to them and why I might end up there."

"I just have to pray about it a lot. Wherever God wants me to be I have faith that he will reveal that to me in the coming months. I'm just going to rely on him for that," Williams said.

Williams plans on having a busy winter and spring visiting schools that he has yet to see. "I've seen Clemson, Florida State and Tennessee a number of times so I'm trying to get out to Ole Miss and North Carolina, two schools I also love," Williams said. "I'm going to try and get out to the West Coast and see Oregon, Stanford and USC."

From Rivals -

After a fall that saw him take in games all over the Southeast, Class of 2015 Rivals100 and Orlando (Fla.) First Academy tight end Garrett Williams said his favorite schools are starting to come into focus.

"Right now the six or seven that are standing out the most are Florida State, Clemson, Tennessee, North Carolina, Auburn, Ole Miss and Florida," The 6-foot-4, 221-pound Williams said.

Williams, who is a legacy at Florida State, touched on five of the seven schools on his early list.

Auburn: "Auburn's awesome. They have top-notch everything. They have great facilities. Their coaches are great coaches and great men. I was actually up there in the summer and then for the Alabama game. It was a great atmosphere and they have some awesome traditions, good academics, it's good all around. The Iron Bowl was crazy, me and my dad were behind the end zone where Chris Davis caught the ball so we got to see all the holes open up and everything. It was really cool.

Ole Miss: They've come on really strong with recruiting. Pretty much all their coaches, regardless of position, reach out to me. Just the kind of men they are. I've been following them on twitter and the stuff they say you can tell by that the kind of men they are and I think they'd be a great influence on my life.

Tennessee: I have a great relationship with Coach Elder, the tight ends coach, so I've been up there twice. I was up there for the South Carolina game, which was a great game, and I was up there in the summer, too. I have a great relationship with him and there's amazing facilities. They have everything they need to win there it's just a matter of when Coach Jones turns it on.

Florida State: My dad played at Florida State so I've been following them my whole life. It's been awesome to see them have so much success. I have a good relationship with Coach Fisher so it's been really good to see them finally come out of their slump.

Florida: I really think they're going to turn it on again soon. I have a good relationship with Coach Muschamp and Coach Lewis, there's just kind of some instability there right now. I'm sure they'll get it fixed sometime soon and they'll be back. I'll be anxious to see how the new offensive coordinator does with his offense in the SEC

Williams said he's in no hurry to make a decision but will likely have a clearer picture of his favorites by the end of the summer.

Are we looking at taking 2 tight ends in the 2015 class?

I think we only take 1. I know Jaason Lewis has said he wants a shot at RB, but I think he is a future star at TE. I hope he is our TE for the 2015 class. Pretty sure he did mention possibly committing in the next month as well.

What about the instate kid from columbia? Thats why I thought we were looking to take more than one TE.

“I want to say Clemson and Tennessee are probably ahead of the other ones right now, but that could change,” Williams said. “I have to keep praying about and just see where God leads me, but those three probably have the slight edge right now.”*
