Gibson was moved to WR early at Pylon 7 on 7 after a rough start. George Campbell had a poor showing as well.

Hmmm.. It's early, but Sounds similar to the Swoops 7v7 reviews. At the end of the day, you still have to be able to throw the ball downfield..

I still think Gibson has elite talent, but I have no doubt in my mind that he needs to take a redshirt year before he even thinks about stepping onto a collegiate field.

His potential May be sky high, but for a 5* QB to need to switch to WR at a camp because of difficulties in passing?... Well that has to be at least a little concerning

"Miami, Ohio State, Tennessee, Oklahoma], Clemson, Florida State, Florida are all showing a lot of love," Gibson said. "And the list goes on and on honestly."

"I am going to visit Oklahoma, Tennessee, Ohio State, and all of the Florida schools that have offered me," he said.

"Academics is the biggest thing first and foremost," Gibson. "The coaching staff and campus life are big things too. The coaching staff has to be together as one unit, too."

Said he will likely make his decision some time in the fall.

Most quarterbacks commit early now. This will be interesting to see how schools play this out, especially if they are only taking one QB

“I’m just as confused as everybody else is about all of this,” Gibson told Saturday Down South. “A lot of coaches are just blowing me away. I’m just trying to enjoy all of this right now. I’m not committing any time soon. Everybody is even right now.”

SEC schools like Auburn, LSU, Florida and Tennessee are some of the higher-end contenders for the south Florida QB’s services, thanks to how they appear they’d use this 6-foot-4, 200-pound dynamo who runs a 4.5-second 40-yard dash. Ohio State, Miami and Clemson are also serious contenders.

There are several interesting scenarios as SEC schools. At Tennessee, Gibson has been told by the coaching staff that the reason they didn’t take a quarterback in their huge 2014 class is because they want Gibson first and foremost in 2015. At Auburn, he could play in a high-powered offense that played in a national championship two of the past four seasons. LSU and Florida would be two other storied programs he could play for.

“A lot of people see me as a running quarterback but I like to throw the ball deep, and a lot of these coaches are impressed with my accuracy and my deep-ball skills,” Gibson told SDS. “They say I have a tremendous arm. I can throw 75 yards. They say I have great body size like Cam Newton and they love my game. A lot of people are now looking at dual-threat QBs because they can get out of tough situations when the pocket collapses. A lot of coaches are starting to look at that and I think it’s great for me.”

“I’m a leader, a humble guy and I will do anything it takes to take the win,” Gibson told SDS. “I always put my teammates first, it’s not just about me. I just want everybody to know that about me. It’s about the whole team and my love for my teammates on the field. I will fight to the end for them.”

"Academics are most important"

Does anyone really buy that when recruits say that?

I think for the big majority of big time recruits its about exposure, winning, and prep for the NFL.

Academics is secondary. A college degree Is a college degree for the most part.

for most big time recruits it's probably not, just something being stressed by their family, friends, coaches, and teachers.

it sounds good though, right!?

I think it is BS most of the time. You have certain things that are just coach speak when a coach is interviewed. Same way with recruits. Recruit speak.

I'd believe it...if Academics is code for girls.

Interesting that the article said we have told Gibson he is our #1 target at QB. Have we heard that from any other sources?

Which can make things dicey sometimes in recruiting elite talent.

It should be expected by the recruit, IMO. Have you ever read a quote from a prospect that said, "The coaches told me I'm their #3 choice at QB. And if they miss on the two guys they really want I can commit."? I haven't.

No doubt. Especially with social media now and kids tweeting just about everything in their life. "Blah blah coach said this". Tell 4-5 kids the same thing and all a sudden it does not mean near as much.

"Um Coach, I saw where you have told me, Gentry, Stidham, and Lock that we are all #1 on your board, what gives"?

"No worries Torrance, that is just something we say to everyone". "With you, we meant it".

I could see this playing out.
