If we take 3, I have a strong feeling that the staff will be letting their 2016 QB targets know that atleast 1 (2 if QD really shows out) will not be at QB by the time the 2016 QB starts competing for PT. And with how these kids have had faith in Butch, we'll be just fine.
I would love to see more of this ^......
and less of this....
blah blah blah... blah blah...... blah blah blah blah blobbidy blah blah
:good!:
I agree. Luginbill, Dilfer and Co. have just been talking out of their ass. I'm like I'll I want to see is the prospects compete. And what's the deal with this one 50 minute running clock game taking over an hour and a half on TV. ESPN recruiting seriously blows.
Pretty good praise @ The Opening on ESPNU just now... mentioned he could be a potential Heisman Trophy winner @ QB, if developed in the right way. Said he needs a school that can resist the temptation to play him right away at WR . Also said he could be one of the best QB's if given a year or a year and a half to develop and that, after working with him for 3 days, he made a lot of progress.
Mentioned he has a deep commitment to play QB in college and they project him to play QB in college.
Gibson has Vols on top
Gibson is the only player at the Elite 11 listed as an athlete, but the 6-foot-5, 198-pound five-star prospect earned an invitation to the event largely based on his tremendous athleticism and the fact that he'll likely be given a shot to play quarterback at the next level.
Gibson, the nation's No. 12 overall prospect, is still sifting through several offers, but told ESPN's Gerry Hamilton that he has three official visits in mind.
"If I don't visit Ohio State this summer, I'm going to take an official visit to Ohio State," Gibson said. "I want to take an official visit to Arizona -- Arizona is showing a lot of interest in me. I'm taking a visit to Tennessee, and that's it for right now."
While several five-star prospects will be quiet on naming a leader during the process, Gibson didn't hesitate when it came to a top school for him.
"Tennessee is the leader," he said. "Just the coaching staff and recruiting. Coach [Butch] Jones had an awesome class last season and this season, they have a lot of big 2015 commitments. He's a great coach and UT is on the way to the top."
Obviously the UT coaches do. They took their commitments at QB. :dunno:
Consider the worst case scenario IF the staff took 3QBs. What if JJ moves to S, TG moved to WR, QD did not progress because of the injury, and because you took 3 in 2015, you don't get any in 2016.
Then, you have QB issues.
It shouldn't be.
Dobbs has potential and Dormandy just missed an entire year of football.
If UT signs Jennings and Gibson, somebody is moving positions. They're both elite athletes. We are in no position to say no to that.
