"Just adding him to the other 2 and seeing how it works out" is part of the problem IMO. You mention you think whoever UT gets in 2016 may start over any of the 2015 guys anyway. The problem is there is a very good chance they take 3 in 2015, and there is no QB in 2016.
I can't remember a day that's gone by that you haven't mentioned how taking QD, JJ and TG will screw up our chances with a 2016 QB. Maybe I'm wrong, but I see this often.
And today is no different. You might have missed my sarcasm in my response to Madkins. Possibly the lack of the "blue font" caused it. :dunno:
Lol, even Tux got confused. There's no hope for us mere mortals, folks. Might as well pack this one up and head to the house.
Why are you so worried about 2016? Let's say hypothetically that you're right about Gibson and he's moved to WR. Dormady and Jennings stays at QB. You're looking at this for the next few years
2015
Dobbs Jr
Peterman RS Jr
Dormady Fr
Jennings Fr
2016
Dobbs Sr
Peterman RS Sr
Dormady RS Fr or Soph
Jennings RS Fr or Soph
Even without Gibson in the mix, the depth chart isn't looking too favorable for a QB imo. And if Gibson DOES realize his massive potential at QB and stays there then a QB in 2016 would easily be the least of our concerns.
We are going into the 2014 season with 3 scholarship QBs. Just take Jennings and Dormady this year and we go into the 2015 season with 4 on scholarship. Get one in 2016 and we are possibly going into the 2016 season with 5.
IF TG is taken as a "3rd QB" he will get his chance to compete for the job. I think most would agree on that. My issue is that by the time he gets that chance, the 2016 QB board would be down to about nothing. Please note that almost all the QBs for 2015 are already off the board and it's not even July 1st yet. By the time these "moves" were made, 2016 QB recruiting would be a miss.
Consider IF they took 3 in 2015 and miss in 2016. Then BOTH Jennings, and Gibson were moved to other positions. How's that 2017 QB rotation looking?
It's simple. If Gibson and Jennings are both moved, we go into 2016 with Dobbs, Peterman and Dormady on scholarship. We go hard after 2 QBs for the 2017 class and it shouldn't be hard to land 2 with Dobbs and Peterman both graduating.
But you've been pretty adamant that Jennings will stick at QB so we probably won't have to worry about that scenario
We had no trouble landing Ferguson and Dobbs in the same class when we had Worley and Peterman already there with Bray leaving early.
I said 2017, not 2016. Dobbs and Peterman would be gone. IF Dobbs had started all along, just how much work has Dormady had?
2017 you would have Dormady, and whichever TFR you just signed the class before. Maybe you do get 2. They still have never taken a snap in the SEC.

Like I just said, 2017 you would have Dormady as a JR or RS So along with the 2 freshmen that will have signed.
Either way, if Dobbs starts in '15 and '16, you're gonna have someone without much experience starting in '17. I highly doubt this 2016 QB that you want so badly will really see much PT in '16 with Dobbs, Peterman and Dormady ahead on the depth chart.
Doesn't seem like something you should really be freaking out about at this point imo.
