1. Because we already have 2 QB's committed.
2. Because Auburn and LSU typically catch more breaks than we do.
3. Because history has shown to a lot of us that when we get our hopes up too high for one particular type of player, he inevitably ends up breaking our collective hearts. Gibson gives me that same eerie feeling.
4. Because it's recruiting and things that seem like a sure thing in June, sometimes seem a lot more gray when it's time for a kid to announce.
5. Because it's hard to close players like this (which is why we see #1).

Hope we get him though.

Patience folks. Let this play out. We lead strongly for TG. Very little to no doubt on Khalil. More to come. The same head coach/staff that brought Vol fans the great class last season against all odds no longer faces having to sell the potential of UT. That class told recruits/families nationwide that UT was back. That's all most of them were waiting to see.

That's odd. I swear I read an interview where he stated he didn't get to see coach Jake while he was here and was hoping to meet him on his next visit.

The Auburn Rivals guys is the one who is the big homer right? If he is saying he thinks AU is out then that says a lot. If Gibson makes it back again this month like he said he wanted to, then I think it's a good possibility that he is a silent commit.

I think he said he didn't get to see Gruden. Maybe that's what you're thinking of.

We need athletes at every position. You don't turn down a player like Gibson/Jennings because they MAY be good at playing QB.

The Auburn Rivals site is notoriously known as one of the biggest homer sites in recruiting. They're basically the complete opposite of Hubbs and Fortenberry, who are extremely grounded in their predictions/info.

Alabama's 247 site is saying Blake Barnett is close to pulling the trigger for them. Wow...I thought he was an Oregon lock. I wonder how that affects the QB dominos?

Barnett and Francois are the only 2 QBs OR offered who are still uncommitted. Maybe they finally extend the offer to Waller, or start offering other QBs.

You have to remember that a DT QB most times just means the kid is a very good runner. Some can throw it well and some can't. If your a QB who throws it well, but can also run, to me makes you a mobile pro style QB. IMO that is what guys like Barnett and Francois are. Pass 1st guys who can beat you with their legs.

Yeah that's weird. Didn't Barnett decommit from ND as soon as Oregon started pressing? He also called then his dream school IIRC. Will be interesting to see this play out.

Seems shady doesn't it? Kid dreamed of Oregon and even has pictures where he used to draw himself in Oregon uni. If bama pulls him away from Oregon there some shady business involved

Barnett picked up a ton of CB's to Oregon as soon as they offered. Did Bama recently offer? I just don't see why they picked up so much steam recently. They thought they were leading for Waller recently as well so maybe they just got some weird info. Hopefully he ends up at Oregon and out of the SEC. I would love to see Bama have to reach for a QB this cycle.

I figured he was going to consider the SEC. As soon as he de-committed, he set up a couple SEC visits I think and 1 was to Bama. I think the Oregon visit just got him thinking and he decided to open it back up. It did look like he was a sure flip to OR the day of the de-commitment, but then he slowed it down.

I wonder what Oregon will do if/when Barnett commits to Bama? I know they also like Francois but I don't going there when he apparently loves AU and FSU. I wouldn't be surprised if they start pursuing Waller pretty hard.
