IMO, 1% chance.

I think the kid drops Tennessee to about 6th on his list if not off it shortly after he gets home. There is just no way I see the coaches trying to take 3 QBs in 2015. Also if they did, do Jennings/Dormady stick? They got 2 quality kids in 2015. Start the focus today on 2016 QBs and move on.

Can we please end this thread if we drop below 5th on his list?

Dormady is an EE so if Gibson is waiting for NSD or close to it, that will not matter. Jennings I think sticks. I don't think he is afraid of competition. No idea whether he is a potential EE.

Wasn't they planning (trying) to take both Gentry and Gibson at one time?

LV you're taking two elite athletes and one true QB. All could bust at the QB position but Gibson and Jennings still could be great at another position.

I doubt it happens as well because I think too many people get into Gibson's head after the Dormady commitment. Gibson had his shot and basically let it pass him by at least at UT.

He showed up late for a QB camp when he had a chance to show his abilities against some other great QBs and learn from a great offensive mind at getting better at QB. He named Auburn his leader last week after a visit there. Just too many question marks to risk on getting left high and dry.

Impossible to say for sure.

Maybe they were planning to take 2 QBs all along. Maybe just 1 and then Ferguson leaving forced a 2nd. Schools have long used taking 2 QBs in a class as a negative recruiting tool against other schools the following year. Taking 3 would be a 2016 QB killer IMO.

Tennessee snagged a QB commit last night: The quarterback dominoes seem to be falling for the 2015 class. Pro-style QB Quieten Dormady joined four-star ATH Jauan Jennings as "projected QB" commits for Tennessee. They wanted two, and it looks like they now have two. Interesting enough, Gibson was in Knoxville this weekend. How does this affect the Rivals100 ATH? We will have to wait and see. He hasn't spoken to anyone following the visit. Right now, Auburn has four-star QB Tyler Queen committed. JUCO Jason Smith will be given a shot, but it seems more likely he ends up at another position. Quarterbacks can't wait until signing day to "wow" a nation. Gibson might want to re-think waiting that much longer...

TG really needed someone to mentor him and explain the fact that elite QBs usually commit the summer before their senior season. By stating that he was waiting until signing day it really complicates things. Of course, many teams would take his commitment on signing day but CBJ really needed to lock a QB down now.

Or just maybe TG's choice knows he's coming and they aren't sweating his visits or leader board. Jmo Gibson has known where he'll commit for some time now.

I agree, he has known how many spots were available and the fact that he didn't do anything says it all. He knows where he is going and knows the spot is there.

Agreed auburn and OSU are the two schools not very worried about offering other QBs. TN had been offering several which tells me they weren't buying what TG was selling publicly

On some level, it doesn't matter if they "know" it or not, though, they can still get left at the altar if a kid changes his mind. Just ask South Carolina when we yanked their HB last cycle.

HG, you have stuck by your guns from the beginning when you said he will be a Buckeye. Kudos to you, and I'm starting to believe you more and more with how things are shaking out. Your post above seems very real with what has happened lately. :hi:

I felt suckeyes for a while with TG. I also tend to think oscar meyer ticked TG off when he took Burrows at QB as I'd bet om was selling TG on being "the man". UT takes a different QB. AU may as well. I could definitely see things coming full circle and TG ending up back at osu following a visit there.

That wouldn't surprise me one bit.

I could see it playing out this way as well. I just don't want him to end up at Auburn.

Interesting no one's mentioning Sean White, The kid that won the Elite 11 who is on Auburn's roster as well. They are pretty loaded at QB.

I'd watch for Dormady and Jennings to both put up video game level stats this fall. Both guys can play.
Yep. I am pretty disappointed that Gibson didn't notice the urgency of the situation, but I personally think Jennings will prove to be one the very best QB's in the country, this fall. That "athlete" label is about to come off, and I find it rather telling that he was here for the Gruden QB Camp and Gibson missed it.

Might have been due to circumstances beyond his control, but Jennings seems to have a good head on his shoulders, while Gibson (deserving or not) is playing the role of a diva in all of this. Dragging out his decision to "soak it all in...is proving to be a leaky hole in his bucket.

Nope. If he knew he was headed for AU or LSU all this time, he wouldn't be trying to make it to UT's QB camp on his own coin, and other visits.

Fact is, he thought (wrongly) that teams would just wait on his decision, regardless. He got a cold bucket of reality last night. It's a long drive back, knowing you not only missed Gruden's camp, but you missed the boat if UT was indeed a co-leader.

If Gibson commits closer to NSD, we have as good a shot as any at him still. He is going to face competition anywhere he goes. He still has an excellent shot at being a QB at UT. We made him a priority but we couldn't wait on a commitment till NSD especially when Dormady is an EE as well.
:loco:

UCF just took a QB.

OU/LSU still w/out one for 2015.

OU runs a good system for TG but I just can't see him going to Norman, OK.

LSU would be a TERRIBLE fit for him imo.

LV, I think we should still go all out for Gibson. He would be a boss at WR with Preston flanked on the other side and Dormady dropping bombs :)
