I wouldn't worry about completion % in high school ball. They're throwing to guys who are in the waning years of their football careers.
That may be true for Gentry, but Gibson is playing on one of the more loaded teams in the country and throwing to some D1 caliber receivers.

If I had to pick one or the other, I'd say Gentry. But I'd love to have either. Just discussing a little football.

Hmm... I do recall somebody posting something about Jones visiting Gibson in January...

That was the same week Jones visited Gentry in New Mexico. Bajakian and Thigpen were also in attendance at Gibson's state championship game in December. It's clear the staff are highly interested in both players, but I have to believe Gibson is the top target given the multiple times *****HE'S REPEATED*****that Tennessee specifically refrained from signing a QB in 2014 to wait on him.

Gallant of him :glare:

Having seen very little of Gibson's game film, I can add only the following with respect to his accuracy: He was 89-158 (56.3%) last year for 1864 yards and 19 touchdowns. That averages out to nearly 21 yards per completion, a figure and completion percentage which reminds of something that Joe Namath once said. In an era when many top-tier NFL quarterbacks completed just over, or even less than, 50% of their passes, Namath responded to criticisms of his completion percentage by stating, "Sure, I could complete 60 % of my passes if all I did was dump the ball off to my tight end and running backs, but with wide receivers like ours (George Sauer and Don Maynard), I'm going to go deep a lot."

No read option on first play..... spread the field I mean really spread the field, drop back throw the deep ball, he would be paired against a linebacker most likely and with that speed, run under it and take it to the house... that would be an impressive start. Go Vols.

I'm worried about LSU on Gibson. I don't know why but I am. Just don't see him at Tennessee
Why worry? Gentry is going to beat Gibson to the punch (by committing) within about 3 weeks or so. Once done, Gibson is an afterthought.

If anything, Gibson's Twitter fans need to try to convince him to make up his mind in the next few weeks....not months. If UT is high on his list, he should be ready to check it off completely by the end of the month...cause that train will have left the station.

I remember the rivals video in which he talked about his visits. It seemed clear to me on that video that LSU was his number two.

Obviously Auburn is a great fit for an athletic QB, but I agree with you.

I really hope we get Gibson. It's been way too long since UT had a dual threat QB.

I said it earlier before, but

Its hard to judge his accuracy in his highlight film because all he throws are screens and deep balls. Those screens helped his %

Would his (4) ranking on accuracy possibly be in part to what the 247 guys have seen during the camp circuit as well? I doubt it is just based on his highlight film. Gibson has attended some camps and not done so well at times. Most of course recall him being moved to WR and it being made a pretty big deal all over the services.

I wasnt saying his highlight film is what gave him the 4/10 ranking. I was just saying, for us fans, its hard to see his accuracy because all we have is his highlight film. And all that shows is screens and deep balls.

If we get Gibson, I'll wash the clothes and clean the dishes for my wife. Even with a dish washer this is effort for me.

Sounds great but is she aware of this? If so, she will hold you to that and may add to your "honey do list".:)

If we get Gibson, I will dance in the streets of my neighborhood.:dance2:
