'15 FL QB/WR/DB (anything he wants) Torrance Gibson

I think it's too early to say it's as big as Peyton, but it's also to early to say it's not. If he came here and led us to 2 Natty's we'd say it was bigger, obviously it seems ridiculous right now though.

Really no reason to overreact either way, the guy put that headline for this exact reason. It sparked outrage and made everyone click on his article and read it, kudos to him.

That being said, getting Gibson would definitely be a MASSIVE pick up from a perception stand point. I know everyone loves gentry, and he is a great QB prospect and either could kill it, but Gibson is ranked a top 10 prospect in the country. That would be huge from a national media perception stand point.

I'll take either, or preferably both.

We need a true dual threat if this offense to really take off...

I agree but we already got one in 15. Juann Jenning.

Not saying we dont want two, obviously Butch is going after another qb, but not sold it's gonna be a dt. A second thats more of a passer might be an option.

Torrance will make a more immediate impact, imo. And I don't think torrance will have to rely on injuries.

Diagree.

In 15 we're gonna have 1 qb in his 4th year and 2 in their 3rd. W/O injuries and or transfers he's not gonna walk on campus as a starter.

Told a few college coaches last year (Spring 2012) about this kid NON listened to me and look where he is now. He had ZERO offers about him at the time I was telling the coaches. Not sure why UT hasn't offer yet, the kid is a STUD!

You are an awesome recruiter and talent scout. If only you worked for UT. If only...

If you can type this much is it too much for you to spell out "Championships?"

Next person to type "Nattys" gets a voodoo curse and trust me ask the 2001 team, those are not good.

i think the statement that we can go and get any kid in the country no matter how big the prospect is a big deal - peyton coming to UT was a big deal like that

so in that way, yes it is a big deal

but to powerorange's point - i would slow down on TG's actual potential - to compare him to peyton is a little unfair

A little?

Isn't there concern that TG's QB mechanics aren't that great? I'm not downing the guy by any stretch but for any recruit to be compared to (arguably) the greatest of all time at their respective position is EXTREMELY unfair.

Manning's intangibles are what makes him better than everyone. Sure he's got the laser, rocket arm and a big, gigantic head to fit all those plays in but...he beats his opponents before he even steps on the field.

Ask any WR that ever played with him. Hell, Eric Decker recently admitted that he thought his film study was pretty good until PM showed him how...

Let's let the kids play a down or two before we start holding them to rarified expectations.

If it's a list in order based on twitter followers, not so much. I'd imagine that will still be the case with his next "new list".

So after Chuma now everyone on twitter is lying about their leaders when they announce them? I'm not really trying to call you out bc you may be right about Gibson, I don't even have a twitter so I don't really know what all he says. But what makes you think his last list was only for twitter followers? And do you know what the teams were off the top of your head? I missed that one apparently.

He tweets UT and Ohio State stuff. Auburn was in the mix but tweets pretty much all UT/OSU now.
