Did I really just read this? Lol

I still don't think our defense is fast + our offensive & defensive line + QB.

We have a long way to go before we beat anyone in the SEC not named Kentucky or Vanderbilt.

Wasn't watching live or entire spring game but based on the highlights you see the play making potential at the skill position. Its talent at QB just inexperienced. I like Worley for the job game 1. Didn't see many issues on the OL from the tape.

The D is 2 steps faster than last year...you see it at lb and db almost immediately on tape. Hell Curt and Vereem are quicker than anything Vols have had at DE in 5 years.

Help is on the way in the secondary and will be on campus this summer. Butch went out and improved the speed at L.B. and in the secondary with this recruiting class. All we are lacking is the big boys in the trenches and that is what scares me.

My hope is O'Brien and Carr step up sometime this summer.
Getting Saulisberry back and getting the freshman in should boost the competition. That should help competition in a big way and force at least one of them to show up.

12min highlight on YouTube.

First year in years that I'm worried about us losing at Neyland. Hurd looks like an SEC back... Malone and North could be the deadliest duo in football. The D is faster also...damn going to miss the days of Teague and #3 roaming the secondary. Lol

So accurate I can't even be mad. I don't think you will ever find a duo of starting SEC DB's play as poorly as Teague and Moore did in 2012.

Glad you recognized that my big lizard friend. The D will get even faster this summer. With Randolph and Salisbury coming back that will be big for our D.

And AJ playing more than 10 snaps.

Kenny Bynum didn't play bad at all and will provide some depth behind AJ. Bynum and Justin King especially King going to provide some good depth at LB.

Honestly my biggest worry is McNeil aka Can't get right. I think everyone will improve but he will be the true weak spot on our D. If he isn't careful TKJr will take his starting job.

It really seems like he hasn't improved any since he set foot on campus. I feel like he came in ahead of most freshmen and just hasn't really developed since then. I'm not sure if his speed just isn't up to par to play safety or if his instincts are lacking or what.

I won't be surprised at all if he loses his job to Kelly, McDowell, or Gaulden.

We could lose but neither squad had the horses for a blowout.

Y'all better figure out that OT issue or Dante will look like Clowney.

The way we schemed for him infuriated me at the time, though in the end it worked I guess.

Our gameplan for Clowney was basically to treat him like any Joe Schmoe DE even if it meant leaving him to an undersized TE or even completely unblocked.

I guess it makes sense in a screwy way. Why double team Clowney and leave a guy unblocked when we think we can man up against the other 10 guys and win?

It didn't help that we would put Moore back at single deep safety as teams ran 3 or 4 deep routes or seams then pick a wr, nor did it help to put Teague on an island with a 10 yd cushion with a 4.4 wr against his 4.6 speed and lack of instinct.

Yeah I can't quite put my finger on it either. Maybe with Kelly, McDowell, and Gaulden coming in that will push him to develop. He hasn't had much competition since he's been here which is a big part of the problem. Lemond Johnson is another name to watch for here too. He was making a come up at the end of the spring

I hadn't considered lack of competition. Hopefully added competition will help things come together for him.

I met Saulisberry Saturday and got his autograph...he's a grown man! Told me he would be full go and ready come summer.

Antonio Richardson played Clowney to a draw in 2012 and 2013, so it worked well enough.

You forgot Pearson. Hes just as deadly, if not deadlier, than North and Malone.

maybe I missed him but I noticed North and JM.

I've watched a few clips here and there involving Pearson. Don't really see him as a gamer like the other two. And that's not a knock on Pearson...they just have NFL top 5 pick potential.

Pearson didn't do a lot in the Spring game, but he has shown out all spring long. Remember the Sportscenter top 10 catch he had a few weeks ago? I expect he will have some big time games this fall.
