I just don't see how our coaches would have a kid at the top of our board with Gentry, someone who is a pure passer, if they did not believe that his talent was equal. I don't see them having a "project QB" at the top of their board either, which is what many of you all believe Gibson to be.

Sense.. it makes NONE.

Well as far as I'm concerned...little of what you say makes sense...and the general consensus...is that this kid is a take at qb...no matter how many comments you make...nor how many ellipses you add...none of it makes sense...if any...at all.

And the overwhelming amount of Tennessee fans that follow him on twitter are helping us greatly in his recruitment.

So you and wuglitch and your merry band of 300 (or whatever, maybe 3) need to realize this:

1.Torrance Gibson is at the top of our QB board, and will stay there IMO.

2.

In b4 wutang swoopes in to protect his buddy and ask "WHO ARE YOU THO BRO?"

You're really emotionally invested in this...for me this is the fun speculation about recruiting...if I'm wrong I'm covered...sounds like you need a soft landing spot...fwiw in past recruiting discussions,I've enjoyed your takes and agreed more often than not...especially some epic oneonones with sjt...if my attempts at humor in jabbing at Gibson's self important Twitter exploits, rubbed you the wrong way...hope you get over it. :hi:

I'm not "protecting my buddy." It's a message board, I have no idea who the guy is. However, your pretentious, all- knowing attitude. That's the problem

I'm not all knowing, never believed myself to be though. However, I do put my trust in this staff, and if they believe that this is "the guy" then who am I to disagree, and who are you to try and convince people otherwise?

I don't even believe that our coaches are "all knowing" but they sure as hell know a lot more about this kid than any of us combined, so I'm rolling with them, and supporting our coaches recruitment of this kid.

Never once in anything that I posted did I claim knowledge about this kid; all I did was ask how butchna could make such statements when he doesn't know jack, JACK. That's not me being pretentious, that's me asking a question.

Somebody call the whaaaaaaambulance, geez.

I understand this, and I agree that it worries me that he's moved to WR..

That being said, why are our coaches telling this kid we didn't take a QB last year so we could go "all in" with him? Do the coaches see something in him that we don't see, or do they just think he has such dynamic play-making ability that they think they can fix his throwing issues?

It seems like many of you all are seeing things that make you believe that he isn't one of the better QB's in this class, but our coaches think otherwise. Why the discrepancy? Honest question.

I would imagine the coaches tell just about every QB they are recruiting that they did not take a QB in 2014 so they could go "all in" for (insert QB on current UT visit name here). Will be interesting to see if Jennings does commit to the Vols on the 7th.

I am also not so concerned with which QB they take in 2015. IMO Fergs or Dobbs will have the starting spot for 2015/16. IF we only take 1 QB this year(ideally IMO), then land Kendall in 2016, we will be just fine. I honestly don't see a QB in the 2015 class I think beats out the 2 kids we have on campus right now. I think Kendall could be a big time QB and would quickly over take the 2015 kid anyway. Sure take a QB in 2015, I just don't think he will see a lot of PT.

Look man, none of this bothers me in any way. I don't lose sleep at night over anything that happens on this message board. I'm a smart-a$$ in real life, and I'm a very loud person (and personality) and it bleeds through and at some times probably seems as if I'm coming on too strong, or over emotionally invested (when I'm actually not, I'm just typing like I talk).

And if you're looking to take a jab at Twitter exploits, then you need to be in Preston Williams thread lol.

I was simply (and still am) asking what you all are seeing that makes you think he isn't a decent qb prospect (or project), and wonder why our coaches aren't seeing the same thing?

Also, FTR, I dont even have AH nose ring, let alone enough nose rings to necessitate a "nosefull" of nose-rings :eek:k:.

I can make statements like that because THAT'S WHAT WE DO ON HERE...between me and you,we have ZERO input on Butch's recruiting decisions...only one of us seems to realize that.

Thanks for your take, preshiateit. :clapping:

He expressed his opinion, you disagreed and bashed him.

He is entitled to that opinion, no matter who's it differs from, even our coaches.

If anyone is whining, It's you when getting called out

"It was good," said Gibson of his visit to UF. "I met all the coaches and got to talk with their new offensive coordinator (Kurt Roper). I just wanted to build a connection and a relationship with him because I haven't met him much. I would like to build a nice relationship with him."

Over the past week the 6-foot-4, 195-pounder visited Oklahoma, LSU, Auburn, Clemson, Tennessee and Florida. He admitted that some visits stuck out more than others.

"Tennessee, Auburn, and Clemson in that order" admitted Gibson. "Tennessee has a crazy fan base and a really crazy staff. Coach [Butch] Jones is doing a great job recruiting and I believe in his plan and he has a young team that is tremendous. Auburn has a great quarterback coach and they run a spread attack. Clemson has great coaches and they showed me a really good time."

"I am putting out a list of top schools on May 5th so they have a good shot of making it on there. I will keep narrowing it down little by little from there and then I will be committing early."

Yea, I agree. If we sign him, I think he could be REALLY special.

If he signs, me thinks there'll be some fun 'post bumping' down the road in this thread. :)

Might want to wait until he CATCHES his first touchdown pass. :)
