Nah...I'm committed to not being impressed by him...if you're emotionally invested and this causes you pain...win win...it's an opinion buddy...don't get so strung out :victory:

Gibson is not an elite passer. He is good, but not elite. He is not on Gentry or Nunez level of passing. Now his speed and elusiveness? Big time elite talent. Still I would not have any problem taking Gibson.

I'm concerned with the strength of your opinion. Who are you again, and what scouting/talent/coaching experience do you have to be able to make these claims?

Lot's of couch-coaches up in here, I'd say that you fall in line with the rest. If our coaching staff believes in this guy, why wouldn't you? Do you know something they don't know? Do you honestly believe that your evaluation of talent is better than ANY of the coaches on staff at UT?

Didn't think so, but I'll hang up and listen regardless.

And if you aren't "hip" to social media then fade away into the darkness with the rest of the dinosaurs. They aren't billion-dollar industries because they are failing at what they do :crazy:.

Would you say that coming in, Worley possessed this "great arm" that you're speaking of?

This offense doesn't work if the QB can't manage the running AND passing game, so they are equally important. Also, the kid has a cannon. Mechanics and the between-the-ears stuff can be taught. What cannot be taught is this kids pure athleticism. Merry those two talents together and the possibilities are endless.

I'm not bashing him, I'm legit asking him what qualifies him to say whether or not this kid can perform at QB? I'm just amazed at the fact that our coaches are going all in on this kid, yet some of you have the gall to question their ability to notice talent, and the lack thereof.

So, that being said, if he knows something we don't know, or in fact IS a good talent evaluator, then I'd like to know.

The person asking why this guy thinks he is a better talent evaluator than our coaching staff, and not the guy coming up in here going against the better judgement of the guys we believe in to turn our program around :eek:k:.

I don't believe myself to be any more knowledgeable than anyone else on this board (about some things), but I sure as hell don't pretend to know something I don't know, nor do I think I'm in any position to comment on the talent of a kid who our guys believe in.

It's an opinion on a message board. What qualifies you for any of the stuff you hammer out? Are you a coach? Do you know the track coach? Do you party with Derek B.? Maybe you do all of those things but he can have his opinion regardless if it is good or bad in my opinion or yours. You don't have to qualify to be able to post an opinion except for Freak to allow you to do so.

We're all fans, and we're all unique. That means we see things differently. I like hearing other people's opinions on here. Butchna wasn't doing anything wrong by stating his opinion.

To the point of discussion, I don't like to say things one way or the other about a player. I'm no talent evaluator, but neither is the majority of people on here, including yourself. We see things either we like or we don't. Personally, I see a whole lot I like out of Gibson. I don't like the fact he's been moved to WR in some 7 on 7 drill. I want him to be a Vol, and to be our starting QB in 3 years.

I'm not coming at anyone, lol, and there is nothing wrong with this ^^^. I'm not saying I prefer one over the other, but to say a kid doesn't have elite talent when our coaches believe the opposite is just silly to me. Oh well, carry on.

I too have questioned why he was moved to WR. QB is undoubtedly the most important position on the field, and IMO if he's the real deal, why isn't he playing there? That being said, our coaches still believe that he's that guy.. so who am I to say otherwise?

I know I'm not a talent evaluator but I trust coaches and trust offer lists of him at QB rankings may not be completely reliable but they do have to come from somewhere.

Regardless I really want this kid cause I do believe he is a game changer. But it's also from a recruiting standpoint. Landing him would really boost our image. When we start landing blue chip players, other top guys want to join in and it shows that we (UT) are coming back!

FTR, I do believe Gibson is an elite talent. I think that's pretty obvious.

I mean, I guess I could say the same thing to you, but you shouldn't take it so personally. It's a message board, remember? I'm sure butchna can deal with it, he doesn't need you to hold his hand and help him work through his issues. We're all adults here, or at least we pretend to be.
