Last time we freakin beat em. Need to put a stop to the streak this year.
I thought the game we set the attendance record was the Jabar Gafney "catch" game, either way, I was there for both.
'04 was the first game my (then future) wife and I went to together...good sign. We sat in the North Endzone, in section X, and couldn't tell until the exact second that Wilhoit's kick went through the uprights that the kick was good.
The ground rumbled that night. I don't think I've ever heard Neyland louder...God, that was a good night.
Wish I could've been at the SC game last year. I bet it was close...
This is my assessment of butch and Gibsons conversation.
Butch : hey Torrance we know u want to wait until after your season but gentry wants to commit in June. U are our number one qb this cycle but I can't wait until December on you u if gentry wants to commit early. We can't wait to see u at the orange and white game. Go vols
Gibson : Im gonna try to come in on Thursday and if I like what I see this weekend I'll commit.
I don't know if the Georgia game from last year or the Florida game in 98 was louder. The stadium was shaking at the Georgia game last year, and the Florida game in 98 was an unbelievable atmosphere.

The Florida game in 98 is easily the most 'live' game I've ever been to. Ever. Any stadium, any sport. When the Florida kicker missed the field goal, the sound was deafening and Neyland shook so much it was hard to focus your vision. Un-be-lievable.

I was there too, and I agree. I don't think the 98 Florida game will ever be topped, for the following reasons:
First, there were over 107,000 fans - 5,000 more than our current stadium capacity. Second, the outcome couldn't have been more satisfying and cathartic for Vol fans coming after so many catastrophic Florida meltdowns during the mid-90s (although a win over a Kiffen-coached Alabama team this year might come close). Third, Neyland Stadium didn't have to resort to pre-recorded music or other Jumbotron gimmicks to keep everyone's attention between breaks. Finally, 1998 was before people started doing that effiminate "WOOOO" during the chorus to Rocky Top.
Here's the missed field goal again, for old time's sake: https://www.youtube.com/v/xakh6kR9ChM#t=25m31s
