'15 FL QB/WR/DB (anything he wants) Torrance Gibson

I personally have Gibson as my "want" QB. I had him ahead of Gentry. I liked Gentry but I like Gibson more. His athleticism is unreal. However this turns out though we will be ok. If we do not get Gibson I prefer to work with Jennings ( who I also like ) and work for a high rated QB next year.

After losing Riley I think the coaches just about have to take a 2nd QB now. I was fine with just Jennings for 2015 and allowing him to RS and see how it goes. After losing Ferguson, the coaches will have to try and get a 2nd QB this class(who could possibly play early), or turn the transfer market upside down to find a kid who could come in and play.

Everyone is blowing everything out of proportion with TG and Auburn. I'm sure that he had a great time, but he will have a great time at TN this coming weekend too. He'll be working one on one with Gruden, getting the love and attention that he wants, and will probably be even more impressed with us once he leaves us again too. It's just too early to call with him.

Also, If TG met with Cam Newton, who's to say Peyton won't drop by next weekend too. Will it happen? Who knows. All I'm saying is he hasn't made his yearly TN visit yet, and wouldn't that be a perfect time to do it!

I would **** my pants if he commits to UT next week...Auburn fans would just die.

Ha, no one said anything about committing, but we have some good selling points as well. Auburn's current history and type of offense have to be very impressive to TG, but I think that TN can be just as impressive. The kid wants to make his mark and not be "another" Cam Newton. He knows that he can come to UT and make his own mark and be his own player. The very reason that Hurd really "didn't" want to to to OSU. There was too much Eddie George comparison.

We'll see how it works out....

For real. I don't make racial issues out of stuff like this. I used Dobbs as an example because he plays for UT and seems like a model student-athlete and great representative for this university.

I used Pryor as the other end of the spectrum because he was once the #1 HS dual threat and has acted like some idiot thug from day 1. That's all I was saying.

Pryor had one major incident at the end of his college career over memorabilia and tattoos and he's an idiot thug from day 1. Talk about your stereotyping.

How do you know he will be the greatest QB to ever play at UT? Geez sometimes you and EZ seem to have an unnatural love for TG. A lot of people don't share your opinion of him being the 10 greatest QB's of all time rolled into one.

I have never said he will be the greatest QB to ever play at UT. But please continue your worthless assumptions.

I think Gibson ultimately wants to throw the football more than most people would expect. A guy who wants to prove something by throwing the ball with success has to be thinking about receivers. That's our specialty.

You might want to do some research, guy.

During his senior year of HS, Pryor got into a fistfight in the middle of a basketball game during the state playoffs and was accused of using racial slurs. That's not a rumor, that's a fact.
After he committed to Ohio State in high school, a reporter asked him why he picked OSU over Penn St (one of his finalists) and Pryor responded will something along the lines of "that's not an urban enough area for someone like me" iirc.
He made more negative comments about Penn St too but it's been a while.

Either way, my point was Pryor has been doing boneheaded stuff since HS and it continued into college.

Good to see you posting again, Vol74.

For those that aren't aware of Vol74's knowledge, just pay attention to his/her posts and read between the lines. Will usually tell you which direction things are going with recruits.

Keep your eyes open on this one (TG). My eyes are already liking what they're seeing.

God help us. I'm surprised they didn't lock him up immediately for such an egregious example of thuggery. My wife enjoys living in Knoxville more than she enjoys living in Seattle because Seattle is "not rural enough for her". I suppose she gets a free hood at the local KKK for that comment.

He gone.

Even Butch couldn't convince a kid that UT is a better place for him to be than Auburn right now.

They are on fire.

That being said, if anyone can do it that is not named Saban, it's CBJ.

You realize that we had a better recruiting class than they did last year, right? And while they are doing better than us on paper right now, they also have signed a few more recruits. If/when we add Mckenzie and people like Richmond/Settle we will close the gap. Auburn has recruited well lately, and it isn't fun going head to head on a recruit with them. But, they aren't exactly an unbeatable juggernaut. It's a myth that is being perpetuated by recruiting forum whispers. It's become a game of telephone.

True not unbeatable. I just figure they are about to have a great season and well....we most likely aren't. We would need to be far ahead of any opponent on the recruiting trail to offset that (assuming wins and national exposure means something to Gibson).
Also, with them coming off a trip to the big game and having Cam and Nick Marshall as real world recent examples of greatness in that offense, Butch has his work cut out for him.

No offense Alumni since you seem to be trolling here - but have you ever been to the state of Alabama - have you ever been to Auburn Alabama? Everyone has a chance with every recruit that Auburn is recruiting imo. How long can you sit around watching the grass grow? about a week and then most would need to escape from there. There is a reason they teepee trees down there. Bore Eagles.

Sorry but he's gone. This one's over.

When it comes down to it Auburn will drop the cash on him to sway him.

I think we need the 'he gone' group to start a crystal ball page on Volnation. Only problem is that we will have 0 predictions of players going to UT until NSD when they discover how bad they were wrong.

It's like the SECs version of The Shining.

All work and no play makes Carl a dull boy.

So Gibson committed to AU? Well MODS should just put AU commit by his name. Also while we are at it I guess someone should send an email to CBJ telling him to stop recruiting TG because VN thinks he has already chosen AU.

Well of course CBJ will continue to recruit the kid. I mean if we miss on a couple other WRs, we might be able to add him late to go along with Williams.

:)
