'15 Fl QB Deondre Francois

I see this thread has derailed, so I'll play along. I understand national pundits having our WR corps down a list of rankings because they largely rank based what has just happened rather than what will happen. Next year I expect our WR's to be ranked at the top, after they ball out this year. This is why preseason rankings are stupid. Nothing should be ranked until at least 3 games have been played.

C'mon Dust; preseason rankings are kinda like all the thread derails, babbling and fights on VolNation. It is the off season for football. Little to actually discuss, so you nitpick, argue vociferously about nothing and just make stuff up... :)

The coveted Florida playmaker has eliminated Ohio State, Tennessee and Notre Dame from contention, per his conversation with Keith Niebuhr of 247Sports (subscription required). Francois effectively cut his options in half, leaving Oregon, Auburn and Florida State in the mix.

Francois hasn't even visited Oregon yet, has he?

I don't think so. It may say in the article, but I can't remember exactly. I think the Duck's whiff on Barnett has led them to turn up the pressure on him and that may be the reason.

Let's hope he goes to Aub & Locksley heads to FSU or vice-versa. That may be the right combination that could help lock Gibson to UT, even though I believe he is already pretty close to being locked anyway.

Sam darn old will go to Oregon. It all depends on if FSU pushes for Locksley. If they do and get him, DF to AU that same day. IMO DF should go to FSU anyway. Go where your wanted son. And bring TG to us for sure haha

Matt, did you mean to say that in your opinion, DF should go to AU anyway...where your wanted?

And the scary part is that that list doesn't have Pig, who led our team in receptions last year.
Nor Croom, who I think is due for a breakout season. Dude is the biggest WR we have. Put him and North out wide + Malone & Pearson in the inside in a 4 Receiver set....lookout!

Getting interesting here. He will visit Auburn again before his July announcement. FSU may stall themselves out of a QB if they keep waiting on Locksley. I hope it happens though as TG to us becomes even stronger

I said when their staff was announced. Crazy good group of recruiters.

Will always have elite talent.

Nothing to do with UT, but I found this interesting. Below are De'Andre Johnson's (FSU QB commit) quotes involving Deondre Francois.

"I don't think he will come in, honestly," said Johnson, a rising senior quarterback from Jacksonville (Fla.) First Coast who committed to the Seminoles in July of 2012. "That guy don't want to see me another four years, I'm telling you. He doesn't want to compete with me day-in and day-out, because there's no way possible he'd beat me out. You can be a camp guy and you can be a game guy. I'm a game guy."

"It's my turf," Johnson said. "Every time I see him, I joke around with him. I'm like, 'dang man, you tryin' to be like me everywhere I go, huh? You got the same name, you play quarterback, you tryin' to come to Florida State. I see him at camp and I'm the only one with my helmet off. Then, he takes his helmet off to try and be like me and I'm like, 'Yo, Francois - you not me, man! You can't do what I do.'"

"The thing about Francois, man, is he's just a guy that wants the publicity that comes with Florida State," Johnson said. "Florida State is a major program and with that comes a lot of hype. If he does come in, good luck to him - he'll be on the bench."

Dude sounds like a real winner! Nice attitude towards a future team mate.

My guess.....he got a phone call from a coach shortly afterwards telling him to shut the eff up.

I predict some interesting things to happen over that kid's career. Quite the mouth on him. Doesn't surprise me the Noles got another mouthy, self-righteous QB.
