So its not dirty when a kid flips on signing day? It works both ways and this is just the way it works. He will get a free education somewhere and hopefully make it to the league. Liked the kid and thought he had potential but DE is just not our highest need right now. The rb situation is borderline desperate compared to other sec teams.
I can see both sides. You don't want to start a trend of pulling offers late in process. It does appear he does this once a year to someone. It can burn bridges and is bad pub. At the same time you got to protect yourself and take really good players if they want to commit because if you tell them to wait then they commit elsewhere and you miss the Elite kids your in trouble. Coaches can either play the wait on elite guys and put their program in the hands of a kids decision or they can control the situation by recruit the heck out of everyone and your the one deciding who can join or who gets cut.
I said this yesterday in another thread, I'll say it again today. Some of the posters here need a xanax prescription. The last couple of weeks going into NSD are always insane. Hate to see Ford go, especially since it doesn't seem it was his choice, but you just have to hope the staff makes the right choices. They have a firmer grasp on our needs than anyone of us. I just hope we haven't closed any doors in that region when it comes to future recruiting.
We know .01% of what's going on, what was said when the scholarship was offered, and what was the determining factors for pulling the offer as well as what was said when it was pulled. I admit that on the surface it looks bad, but that's the point, we're only seeing the surface. You have to have faith that Butch is doing the right thing for the program.
Why would we not want a four star recruit? I just don't understand. I wish him luck.
I thought I had accidentally navigated back into the FF for a minute! I don't understand this but surely Butch has a plan here- please tell me we are getting an OT maybe Sapp also- sounds like grades maybe weren't an issue as I has first hoped. Hopefully we will get some inside info on this soon now to my medicine cabinet lol!!
I guess my only question in this would be.... If we are trimming him due to class size, and knowing we have an scholly offer on the board for a long snapper. Would it not make sense to trim elsewhere? Is it possible that the coaches were weighing a risk/ reward scenario with something unknown to the general public? I support them either way, but I scratch my head a little trying to wrap by brain around this
