PM me, so we can meet up for tears and beers.

“I’ve got a really good relationship with (Elder), and I talk a bunch with Coach*(Butch) Jones,” Clark said. “They offered me awhile ago, and they’ve been recruiting me ever since. I mean, definitely, it’s a really cool place. I’m excited to finally get a chance to get out there and visit.”

He said he’s interested in Tennessee for a few reasons.

“Obviously, they’re a pretty young team,” Clark said. “They always recruit really well. They have some of the best facilities in the country. They play in a great conference, where you can play against some awesome, awesome competition. They have an idea of what they want to do with the tight end. Especially in the SEC, that’s really hard to find. Not many schools can use the tight end better than they do in Tennessee.

“They have a lot of different, unique opportunities that they’re offering. And you saw it with these true freshmen that came in now (Daniel Helm*and*Ethan Wolf) — they’re getting playing time — so you can play early as a tight end there at Tennessee. I mean, it has a lot of different things that are pretty intriguing to me.”

No matter what Clark decides this time, he said he expects his next commitment to be his last.

“I’m really confident about that,” he said. ”I’m a man of my word, so this is going to be my last. I mean, my parents have said that. I’ve said that. I mean, everyone just kind of wants it to be done with.

Hmm...sounds like he's winding down the process and wanting to commit and shut it down pretty soon. I think he's visiting on Monday. I like the way this is setting up. Going out on a limb...announces his commitment to the Vols to kick off Legends' weekend next week.

Yeah, I'm not sure why he committed to UNC and decommited so fast, but it looks like we have a great chance.

Does anyone think the fact that our freshmen TEs (Helm and Wolf) appear to be the real deal and are probably going to start for us will hurt us in our recruitment of Clark? My hope is Clark likes competition because he'll have to bring it every day to unseat Helm and Wolf before his senior year.

Excited to say the remaining visits I have planned will be the last ones I take before I commit at the opening in the July !!!

We are in fairly good shape at TE. If we don't take a TE for this class, no big deal. I would much rather use that spot for an OL or DE.

If we are going after a TE this year, it still makes absolutely no sense whatsoever we aren't in the Jackson Harris sweepstakes, top 10 player at his position, top 10 player in state. Mark Elder was/is his recruiter. Only has 38 offers from who's who among college football including pro and spread offenses so apparently he can play in any offense. :dunno:

I don't see how teams are going to keep Harris at the TE position. 6'6 250+ and he hasn't even hit a college weight program. I think with Richmond mostly in the bag at tackle they are gunning for a sure fire TE or skip it entirely this year.

Not everyone gains weight when they get to college.

If he adds weight, it's a good thing to have an athletic OLineman. It still does not make any sense to go hard after Clark and not Harris.

Harris 6'6" 250

Clark 6'6" 247

One is ranked 6 in the country, the other 7.

The coaches think rankings mean everything. They won't offer anything under a composite 92. True statement. They want all the stars

Seems like the coaches feel confident enough with who we have on campus to swing for the fences with Clark and Lewis, or not take one with class.
