'15 CA QB Sheriron Jones (UT Signee 2/4/15)

I think all HS Seniors that play football need a weight room. Haven't seen many that come D1 ready. He'll be fine just as Bray and Dobbs were.

Oh I agree lol. More or less stating the obvious. He'll be good though. He'll allow Jennings to move to his best position in a few years, imo.

Classes start Jan. 7th. Very interesting going along the lines of wanting to get Jennings in school first.

This group of QB's for the '15 season will definitely push one another. This will ultimately create a healthy and competitive environment from the weight room, to the film room, to the practice field.

"Tennessee*is my front runner right now," Jones said. "That was my No. 2 choice back in the summer and I want to visit them after the dead period. I'm also hearing from*Miami,Texas Tech*and a little bit from*Ole Miss. I would like to take at least three trips and when I find a place that feels like home, I'll go ahead and commit."

Anybody able to see the update from 247? I'm sure it's along the same lines of the scout article, but I was just wondering if anybody has seen it.

Thanks!

santa ana, calif. -- less than a month has passed since top247 quarterback sheriron jones (moreno valley, calif./rancho verde) decommitted from florida. Since then, the semper fidelis all-american says several schools have been in contact.
"i would say i have spoken to tennessee, ucf, texas tech and miami a little bit," jones said. "ole miss a little bit but they kind of stopped talking to me due to the juco commitment. Maryland a little bit too."
one team has really made a push for jones, the no. 8 dual-threat quarterback in the 2015 class.
"tennessee is kind of talking to me the most, but all of them are doing a great job recruiting me right now," jones said. "it is late in the process, so they are trying to make sure they have a quarterback in their class."
since he decommitted from florida, jones has not heard from anyone on the gators staff. As of now, that means they are not under consideration.
"i guess they are out of the picture," jones said. "i love the environment they have there, so if they give me a chance i guess i would look at them again. I am not committed anywhere right now and i was committed there once. Just to see where their direction and scheme are, i don't know, i might listen."
as he has said several times since reopening his recruitment, the vols are in the driver's seat.
"tennessee is my leader," jones. "after that, everyone else is in a pack.
The 6-foot-3, 195-pound signal caller loves what the staff in knoxville have done with the program, and the passion held by its fanbase.
"the coaching staff," jones said. "the environment is pretty crazy. When i say people love their tennessee football, i mean they really love it. Coach butch jones is doing a great job, as is coach mike bajakian. Seeing coach jones sign an extension was great to hear, so i do not have to worry about that. He is going to be there all of my years.
"just seeing the field, the facilities and the people around it - they are very clean and neat and actually care about it and that is what i like to be around. Coach butch jones runs a very family-oriented program and they make sure all their student-athletes graduate in three years, so i am really loving that."
there is no set decision date for jones, but he does know of at least one trip he plans to take soon.
"i kind of have plans to take a few officials, but the only one i know of for sure that i will take is tennessee," jones said. "i will take a few visits, make sure i find the right place and that my family loves the place. But i am not sure when i will make my decision."
the vols have a pair of four-star quarterbacks already committed in jauan jennings and quinten dormady, but that has not stopped their pursuit of jones, nor does it faze him.
"i just have to go out there and compete," jones said.

#1 Performer at the Semper Practice.
1. QB Sheriron Jones

Despite heavy winds in Southern California, the four-star quarterback had a solid showing through the air. Jones has proven to be a talented dual-threat prospect with an ability to make plays with his legs, but it was his arm that earned him praise Wednesday at Santa Ana Stadium. The former Florida commit showed great touch on his deep ball, kept his feet moving in the pocket and also was great on designed rollout plays.

Four-star QB will be a late steal

Sheriron Jones

It's been a difficult few weeks for dual-threat quarterback Sheriron Jones following his de-commitment from Florida. The four-star prospect made the decision to re-open his recruitment when Jim McElwain took the helm in Gainesville, and Jones has scrambled to find a future home. Maryland, Miami, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas Tech and UCF have reached out, but Jones said he's keeping an open mind. The programs are vying for a signal-caller that showed plenty of promising glimpses Wednesday. He has the arm strength to make tight throws, but also the touch to be effective down field. Combine that with an ability to extend plays with his legs, and Jones could certainly be a jewel for a school that is still looking to add a quarterback to its class.

I really want this to happen. I like this one and think he could be special with a RS year.

I appreciate it eazyTD!

I think taking 3 QBs in this class would be a smart move by Butch and Co. especially if Jennings doesn't pan out and moves to D.

The only downside I see to it, could be if Austin Kendall has a change of heart but he seems pretty solid. Kendall has a real chance to be one of the top 2 or 3 QBs in 2016.

All I know is God bless the USA, and God bless the Vols!

Would love to pick this guy up. IDK how things shake out between him, Jennings, and Dormandy, but I'm willing to be we will get at least one great college qb out of the three
