On Turner, Rob Lewis saying today he keeps hearing the same thing from everyone he asks, Turner will be here the first day classes start...not sure what date that is.

I think he'll be here, but regardless I'm glad Barnes didn't waste a scholarship on a guy just to fill a spot, glad we're moving on from that style of recruiting it would seem.

OK, let's get back on subject. What's the latest on Lamonte Turner?

ok, so i have read all 585 post and here is my take away....
1. his full name is lamonte turner
2. he is a PG prospect
3. he is from AL
4. he is the greatest 3 star prospect every anointed to be out PG savior prior to enrolling in his first class.
5. he is NOT on campus yet
6. he has not cleared the NCAA yet
7. classes start august 19th.
8. even when classes start he may not be cleared.

ok. that is my take away. can't wait to see him in orange. go vols!:hi:

I'm honestly not 100%, it was around August 21st last year that Woodson enrolled, so I would guess there may be a 2-3 day grace period. Now, even if Turner is here and in class, that's not the end of the waiting, he will still have to be cleared by the NCAA Clearinghouse, which is an unknown timetable if you recall Mostella last season going through that.

I think there is a drop/add deadline that is the actual last day to enroll in classes. Not sure how long after the first day of classes it is though.

He simply has to be enrolled by the add/drop date, which is typically a couple weeks after the first day of classes.
