Not to mention we (the tax payers of Tennessee) are still paying Butch millions per year. Fulmer (bless his heart) extended Pruitt's contract a few months ago. Fulmer has never been accused of being real smart with money. If I remember correctly, Fulmer extended Pruitt's contract during the lockdown. Please correct me if I am wrong. Who does that? So, with the $147,000,000 loss, and the extended contract, how far down the tubes will the university have to allow Pruitt to take it before showing him the door is even financially feasible?

Pruitt WILL get it done. It’s just going to take longer than it needed to because he’s so stubborn

You offer no reasons why. I can give you several why nots.
1. Still playing JG in year 3.
2. Home loss the GA State
3. Killed at home by KY(in year 3)
4. Non competitive against top tier SEC teams.
5. Still playing JG in year 3.

they were going to give Pruitt an extension before the Pandemic, I believe. And, he wanted to wait, coulda been during. Pruitt chose to wait.

The 147M was the UT system not just UTK.

The article does make mention the university will cover some academic and parking fees athletic dept and in a position to loan the athletic dept money if needed so even though it is self supporting non taxpayer funded it is hurting and the school is having to pick up some of the costs.

Another thing to mention is these numbers might be a bit inflated and could include all types of costs that may/may not be COVID related since there will likely be another stimulus package with money going to states and universities. This is likely a ploy to increase the amount received if/when there is another stimulus....

Recruits don't want to come to a school when the coach only has a year or two left on their contract.
