'14 WI DT Craig Evans

I agree. We've got all bases covered in this recruiting class EXCEPT for OL imo. Sure, no QB, but I think we're fine to miss this year and gun for a stud next year.

Offensive Line is my main concern. Doesn't matter how good the QB/RBs/WRs are if there are no gaps and/or no time.

I think we will be surprised with the OL this year. Bringing in Blair was huge. Cannot overstate just how big that was. But I think redshirting Marcus Jackson was a brilliant plan as well. Having those two anchor down the line makes me feel better.

I'm also okay with not landing a QB this cycle. Would have loved to get Cornwell, but, I think we're going to wind up with a good one in '15. With as many as we're looking at, and the attention we've got right now, I like our chances at landing one in '15.

I agree, our line could really come together and fit the offense better this year.

I think we are good at DT in this class with Williams, Mosley, Jashon, and I think either Thomas or Mixon will be a DT

I disagree. IMO, DT is one of the positions this recruiting class is missing upper echelon talent. I hate to say anything remotely negative about this recruiting class as I think the staff has done an outstanding job. The best teams especially in the SEC consistently have dominant defensive lines and that includes the two and three deep as many teams rotate the big guys in and out to keep them fresh. Hopefully, the guys we have committed will continue to develop.

Lol wait what? We didn't cover OL? please, explain.

Eh, I just wanted one more JUCO O-Lineman. Blair was definitely a huge pickup, but overall our line is going to be very inexperienced. I don't know if Thomas, Brown, or Raulerson shouldn't all have a RS this year, and Robertson would probably be better suited on the D-line. I think if we pick up Mike Sawyers, either he or Jayshon will move to the offensive side. Also, Mosley would be much better as a run-stopper imo.

inexperience yes, but more than likely they all Redshirt except blair. i keep hearing people say on other boards that we have no O line. our line play last yr wasnt great and tiny was the worst lineman last season. this yrs line may not have as much pure talent but i would be willing to bet they will be much nastier. hell even Vandy had several low 3 star guys on their line and they did alright. its not going to be as bad as some believe.

Their line did alright?

Hopefully, the goal isn't to just be alright. I can't wait until we stop comparing ourselves to Vandy and start comparing ourselves to the teams that actually compete for conference championships and have national relevance...

If this young man ends up with the grades and could have made it into UT, Butch and staff will kick themselves for jumping off of him. He's gonna be a beast DT. JMO.

I agree. Look at Dlines like LSU, they have a lot of quality depth. IMO we cannot have enough DL, especially quality ones like Evans. I say bring him in here and for get the grades. For crying out loud Fulmer got Travis Henry in and that dude could barely read, write or talk.

Should have taken the chance if that's the case. Jmo

Rolando Melancon, John Brown, Eddrick Loften, Dave Clark... tons more that I can't think of right this minute that never made it on Campus. Helps recruiting ranking but nothing else.

We need depth and that means guys that can get in and stay eligible.

Correct and to take him would mean that we would have to cut someone loose who would have made it in.

This is from Bleacher Report, does Hyams write for them as well, LOL

Committed to: Wisconsin

While Michigan State is in the picture, according to 247Sports, the biggest threat to Wisconsin for 4-star defensive tackle Craig Evans comes from the SEC.

Tennessee is making a late push for Evans, per M. Riley Blevins of Inside Tennessee (subscription required). The Volunteers have been one of the hottest recruiting schools during the 2014 cycle, so this should make folks around Madison nervous.

His parents especially, as well.

As a parent I just don't see how his parents wouldn't take his education seriously. If this is true then many adults, educators, and coaches have failed this young man. I think the young man has to take some responsibility here as well.

You would be surprised how many parents no very little. MDObserver on here is more of an exception. And a lot of kids are from single parent homes with the mother as the head of the house. Not saying this is the case for him i dont know. But especially in those situatuions the lack of knowledge of all these recruiting details are lacking. I had a single parent mother call me today lol. I coached her son in middle school football and helped him get into college to play basketball. Now she wants me to be his agent after he got ijured and released frkm one of the NBA's minor league franchises. So you just never know.

Going back here knowing that there are grade issues worries me that we are missing out on one of our DT's.
