This kid looks beastly, we are probably his top offer as of now. Some good school there but we need this kid to be one of our hopefully 3 or 4 DE.

Espn has him as OLB, either way.

Dang, Russell has really stepped up their athletic apparel since I last wore their sweatpants in the 90s.

Man those uniforms look great. When I played I was lucky if I had two socks that matched.

Scout.com: Early playing time 'excites' Freeman

new article on scout

Early playing time 'excites' Freeman

The overall experience was great. Loved the coaches, fans, facilites and everything else about the trip.

Recruiting him as lb.

Loves the chance for early playing time.

Practice was exciting. A lot off energy.

Said when he got the UT offer he was very excited. Said his dad started fist pumping. You can tell this was an offer he really wanted.

He said he has heard amazing things about the game day environment. Likes UT's medical program. The entire place is exciting to him.

4.0 GPA

Said coach Thig is amazing and has a great relationship with him.

He and his family got to talk to Butch and they like him a lot. He said he is very high on UT right now. Will be here for O&W game.

"I am still wide open," he said. "I have been communicating most with*Georgia Tech,Duke, and*Tennessee, but they are not my leaders. They have just been showing the most interest. They are doing a great job recruiting me."

"I used to think I would make my decision kind of late, but I am not sure about that now. I have been talking to my parents and I really want to graduate in December, so I think I could make my decision a little earlier. I may commit in the summer now. We will see."

"I really like Tennessee," Freeman offered. "I like the coaches. Coach Jones has really taken the program and is making it good. Coach Jancek really communicates with me. We e-mail each other all the time. He tells me I can call him any time I want. I like the fact that they have a medical program. I want to be an anesthesiologist. So I'm really looking forward to learning more things about them. I was up there a couple of weeks ago for practice. It was very exciting. They move fast and have a great time with it."

"It's not too overbearing," Freeman offered. "I'm trying to enjoy it. I'm getting interest from a lot of schools. Right now I'm sitting at 12 offers and I'm blessed to have them."

"I want a place that can really mold me into a better linebacker and a place that is family-like that says I will take your son and make him a better person in four years," Freeman said.

Obviously an incredibly smart kid - note his offers from very strong academic schools as well as him being an EE.

I could see him being either a LB or DE here.

X mentioned him today as a "name to watch" this weekend, the implication being that he might commit. I haven't seen anything else to indicate that he might be close to committing to us, but if he does commit this weekend I might I have to reconsider my opinion of X
