Actually, I live in Salem. Paper today said he hit another HR yesterday. We VOL fans are in the minority in this part of the state. Don't know Coleman Thomas personally, and was really shocked he committed to us. VT thought he was all theirs.

He's already the 3rd rated C in the country lol. I know he's a 3* without a whole lot of offers, but he has a solid offer list and position ranking. If by blow up you mean get a lot more offers, I'm not too worried tbh.

By blow up I mean, Alabama, Ohio St, Florida St will come calling. Luckily Butch has some great examples of OL prospects that he is putting into the league, plus early PT.

C. Thomas plays baseball close to my home today in Riner, VA. Think i will take my little girl over and check out the #3 rated Center in America. I will report back later!

This guy is extremely athletic and Butch knows how to pick O lineman. He doesn't get talked about enough. Glad we locked him down.

Game was moved to Fort Chiswell. Didn't make it down I-81....

According to The Roanoke Times..........our worry could be baseball. He is leading The Timesland in HR's and in the top 10 in batting average and RBI. Three sport star who is very athletic.

I like this pick-up for a couple of reasons. First, I think he has the potential to be a big-time player for UT. Second, he is from Virginia, which I think is a critical state for Tennessee to recruit from at a high level. I've said this a couple of times in various threads but I think recruiting Virginia is essential to getting back on top. If UT can protects its own borders and go into Virginia and North Carolina for some big prospects then UT can go after the Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina players to fill out the class. I put it in that order simply because Tennessee is important from an image standpoint (you have to protect your own borders when there isn't as many D-1 prospects as there are to the south of Tennessee) and because the talent is getting better here. Virginia is important because UVA football is irrelevant and Virginia Tech is not a recruiting juggernaut and Virginia is a talent rich state, particularly this year. We should own Tennessee and Virginia. North Carolina is somewhat similar to Virginia in this way and UT will always need to recruit Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina but pulling from those states right now is kind of hard. I think UT, once we start winning again, will then be able to go into Georgia, etc., with impunity but we have to get there first and I think that means through Tennessee, Virginia, and North Carolina recruits.
