Man they are going to be so stacked on the defensive line. Nice pickup by Meyer. Say what you will but the guy knows how to recruit as well as anyone. I knew it was a long shot but this was one of the guys I wanted to land the most in this class. Oh well, we will get ours.

While it sucks that he is not a Vol this should hopefully help us land Barnett. Hopefully his family and advisors are talking this out with him.

I think it will help us with Barnett. I really hope we land him. Good looking prospect with a lot of potential at DE and Lord knows we need help on the DL.

Uou know it could hurt with Barnett. If they only have limited positions on the line left, he could pull the trigger in fear of not having a spot later. Hope not tho

Yeah you're right, it could go either way. He could try and secure his spot like you said, or he could see it as adding even more competition to a DL that was already stacked with as much young talent as anyone the (IMO). Hopefully it the latter. :crossfingers:

You are correct. Just hoping that adding another top end DL will make DB think twice about joining an already stacked DL. Hopefully he will see the opportunity to shine and play early at UT and it will put him over the edge.

I would be very surprised if OSU continues pursuing Barnett assuming they're looking at him as a DE (I would imagine so), considering that they now have two DE commits and will end up with a smaller class this year (OSU is at 11 commits, will likely top out around 18). If I were to guess I think they push harder to try to get a DT prospect.

This is not a shot at CBJ at all because I love what he and his staff are doing recruiting. That said, it is odd to me that UT is not having more success in Virginia. Knoxville is pretty close to Virginia (I know Virginia is a decent sized state) and it has several elite defensive linemen this year but I don't think UT is a legitimate threat to land any of them. It's just odd to me.
