Does anybody think we have a legit shot at Hand? I am not optimistic. I know NSD is a long way away but Tenn doesn't hand out money like Auburn and Ole Miss so I think our chances are very, very slim. Not impossible but slim. Although I am hoping maybe CBJ and company can pull it off.

No, we don't. It *could* happen, but at this point, no. There's plenty of other recruits to get excited over, let this one be..

We're still fighting UM and VT for him, and I have a hard time seeing us pry him away from VT, but I'm glad we at least got him on campus. We have a better chance now.

Couple that with the NCAAs new technique of screwing up investigations and ignoring infractions from certain schools and we don't stand a chance in this one.

He seemed to be really impressed with meeting Clowney. It also seems the one coach that was recruiting him from USC that left did not hurt your chances either.

I would have thoroughly enjoyed being a "fly on the wall" during that "meeting." Clowney displays mastery of the English language.

Cool. Thanks for the reponses, gents. I haven't watched his film. I was just curious as they are/were #1 overalls at the same position.

Clowney is a once in a decade type player. Hand is very good, but not on the level of Clowney, IMO

Deke Adams, our new defensive line coach, was his recruiter at UNC. He was considering UNC before Adams left. Him and Hand seem to have a good relationship. I think we'll be in it until the end, but I do not believe we will land him.
