'14 TN WR Josh Malone (UT commit 12/4/13)

It is going to be interesting to see which school gets the final in-home visit with Gallatin (Tenn.) Station Camp four-star receiver Josh Malone tonight.

I believe both Clemson and Tennessee staffs think they are in position to have the last word, so to speak, assuming Malone sticks to his plan of shutting off contact after tonight.

Tigerillustrated.com has learned that offensive coordinator Chad Morris will be part of Clemson's visiting contingency, a group including coach Dabo Swinney, receivers coach Jeff Scott and offensive line coach Robbie Caldwell, the area recruiter.

I would expect Tennessee to stick with its contingency of coach Butch Jones, offensive coordinator Mike Bajakian, receivers coach Zach Azzanni and linebackers coach Tommy Thigpen. Thigpen has been a point man in this recruitment.

Furthermore, we are now in position to reveal that Clemson paid Malone a visit last Friday as well. Tennessee had its aforementioned group see him, as reported. But Scott made the trip to see him, too.

Also worth noting that word trickled out Sunday night that four-star receiver Dominique Booth is no longer committed to Tennessee -- reason being that the Vols will not have room for him to enroll early. While I don't believe this indicates Tennessee knows it will land Malone -- an early enrollee, ahem -- this does knock one more receiver off the apparent depth chart while creating the space for Tennessee to take him.

Have to be a Clemson rivals member to see it. But some clemson posters on the main board are saying it's good news for UT. The quotes will eventually end up on VQ.

Ron, does the Monday morning report on Volquest say anything about Malone. It shows a pic of him on the front page.

Yes, I posted it here late last night. Here it is again...

Obviously all eyes are on Josh Malone as we are just about 60 hours from a decision from the highly coveted receiver out of Gallatin. Yes, Malone was in Kansas City on Sunday for the Broncos-Chiefs game but that seems to be a trip that was planned well in advance of Sunday's contest.

Malone will be at the Mr. Football banquet in Murfreesboro Monday and it wouldn't be a surprise if members of both Clemson's and Tennessee's staffs are in Murfreesboro as well.

Then, Monday night, Malone will host around half of Tennessee's staff, including Butch Jones, as Tennessee gives one final push to land the state's top receiver. Clemson's Dabo Swinney, Jeff Scott and Robbie Caldwell are scheduled to be in to see Malone on Monday afternoon/early evening.

As of late Sunday night, we still don't believe that Malone has made a decision although there seems to be some momentum for Tennessee right now. But, this one seems far from over as Clemson had the momentum heading into the weekend.

Can the UT staff pull a filibuster and/or beat up the Clemson staff in the driveway on their way out?

I think the vibes in this thread tonight/tomorrow will tell the story.

Should be some info trickle out if he makes his decision known to the coaches tonight.

Butch would mess that stringbean Dabo up :)

So he's suppose to have his decision made by tonight and is only allowing one more in-home. Sounds like the decision might be made and the in-home is to tell the coach who's visiting he's going to commit to him.

Thanks Ron! I read that last night. Just thought this might be something new. This recruiting class has been really fun to watch this year! We have gotten almost everyone we were wanting to get! Here's to us keeping everyone, adding Malone, Mosely, Reed, Williams-Scott-Powell (Any of the 3) and finish with Adoree! Yes, people I realize the numbers won't allow this many, but it's recruiting I'm allowed to dream big! :toast:

That's a boss move. Have Dabo and staff travel to Gallatin to share the news. That's giving your all for Tennessee.
