It is going to be interesting to see which school gets the final in-home visit with Gallatin (Tenn.) Station Camp four-star receiver Josh Malone tonight.
I believe both Clemson and Tennessee staffs think they are in position to have the last word, so to speak, assuming Malone sticks to his plan of shutting off contact after tonight.
Tigerillustrated.com has learned that offensive coordinator Chad Morris will be part of Clemson's visiting contingency, a group including coach Dabo Swinney, receivers coach Jeff Scott and offensive line coach Robbie Caldwell, the area recruiter.
I would expect Tennessee to stick with its contingency of coach Butch Jones, offensive coordinator Mike Bajakian, receivers coach Zach Azzanni and linebackers coach Tommy Thigpen. Thigpen has been a point man in this recruitment.
Furthermore, we are now in position to reveal that Clemson paid Malone a visit last Friday as well. Tennessee had its aforementioned group see him, as reported. But Scott made the trip to see him, too.
Also worth noting that word trickled out Sunday night that four-star receiver Dominique Booth is no longer committed to Tennessee -- reason being that the Vols will not have room for him to enroll early. While I don't believe this indicates Tennessee knows it will land Malone -- an early enrollee, ahem -- this does knock one more receiver off the apparent depth chart while creating the space for Tennessee to take him.
