I talk with Josh almost daily. I have been able to watch him develop from a freshmen football player into a senior leader on and off the field! He has a bright future ahead of him and I sure hope it includes a few years in the orange and white!

First time poster on here but have followed this thread for sometime to see all the Josh Malone chatter. I talk with Josh a lot and I have said the past month that Florida State and UGA would be in the lead! As bad as that hurt me to say, I was honest with myself. However, this past week I have gotten a sense that JM is looking more and more into UT and FSU and UGA have fallen off, in steps Clemson. It is a two school race and CBJ and his staff are making a serious run. I know Mrs. Malone well and she doesn't allow visitors very often so the the Vols staff being allowed in the home is a good sign for us Vols fans!

Great news if true.

BA, is that you?

Hopefully he has more friends like you.

I don't think a loss to Kentucky does much to help us here. Vols need to win today and move the ball in the air.

The much-awaited decision from Rivals100 wide receiver Josh Malone will come next week, in a ceremony at his school on Dec. 4. Malone visited Clemson this past weekend for the Citadel game and came away praising the Tigers and their staff. It seems as if Clemson is in great position to land Malone, but in-home visits over the weekend from Tennessee could complicate things.

In the end, it will come down to whether Malone likes the idea of going to Clemson to play with other high-profile offensive recruits such as five-star quarterback Deshaun Watson or he chooses to stay close to home and be a part of the re-build at Tennessee. Georgia continues to hang around, but appears to be on the outside looking in. Malone is no longer seriously considering Ohio State or Florida State.

Yea he isn't saying anything to me nor the person I am close with regarding his recruitment. Neither of us are out right asking him either. Don't want to violate his trust. The last talk was all about Clemson and how he hadn't picked yet. That makes me uneasy. After every visit he loved the school and talked non stop about it. My hope is the Clemson luster wore off just like the FSU luster. Biggest difference is he likes the incoming freshman QB at Clemson.

This is just my feeling from all of the developments and info of the past few months, in the end I feel Butch gets it done. The Clemson QB could be the next big thing or the next big bust. I don't feel thats enough to push it over. Once again this is my opinion on where he ends up.

Haven't heard a word from him in a few days. Hoping he is sitting back eating Butch's peanut butter and ready to pull that Tennessee hat.

I do agree with Tux as well that Josh could be the countries best WR in three years. Kid is gonna be a stud wherever he ends up. He is exactly what we need opposite of North.

Hopefully our staff really pushed how good Ferguson & Dobbs can be, since he cares about who his qb will be? They can also use North as an ex that even without a great qb, he can be a difference maker for us! In the end he'll choose the vols! :)

I know a while back when everyone saw him as a lock I said to be careful because it wasn't a lock by any means. I just want to say this at this time.

I haven't talked to the people I know close to him since that last talk, but based on that talk, I would be pretty confident if UGA is now out. I was told he did talk about Clemson a little but not nearly as much as Tennessee and Georgia, or even FSU. This was before the visit, but they would have had to blow the doors off the visit to land him IMO. I think we may end up landing him with Clemson coming up just short just a little too late. JMO and like I said, this is not coming from the people I know close to Malone. It is just simply my opinion.

This is 100% my thoughts. We end up getting him because Clemson made a push a couple weeks to late.

"With the change in the recruiting structure and the new rules with signing financial aid agreements, I've been very cautious of speaking about individuals," Jones said. "But Josh [Malone] is a very talented, talented, talented young man and has an extremely bright future ahead of him and is definitely a complete football player."

. . . .The 6-foot-3 Malone caught 71 passes for 1,404 yards and 19 touchdowns for the Bison, which lost to Hendersonville in the second round of the playoffs. He had eight combined touchdowns on rushes and returns.

According to 247sports.com recruiting analyst Barton Simmons, the NCAA interpretation gives the athlete a little more control of the recruiting process -- perhaps more than was intended. "If a kid signs that financial aid agreement, there is now no danger of the school backing out on him," Simmons said. "He's got a place to land, regardless of what happens with other recruits. It still gives the recruit the freedom to sign with another school or enroll at another school if he wants to.

"The spirit of the rule is to let a kid end the recruiting process and let him move forward with his school, get himself a spot on that list so he doesn't have to worry about things anymore and just communicate freely with his staff. Josh has taken it a step further and signed with multiple schools, which I don't think is the spirit of the rule. But he took advantage of it and that gives him the freedom to narrow down his choices and communicate as much as he wants with those two or three schools he signs with."

. . . . Richt said he expects the interpretation of the rule to be re-interpreted "at the end of this recruiting cycle." For the complete article, consult Station Camp recruit benefits from new NCAA rule.

After reading both of you and Voloutspost, I feel really good about getting Malone. Combined with the number of visits we are getting and how well all the recruits really seem to love our coaches. A lot of coaches say things about family, caring about players grades etc. Just look at what Jones has done to help these players get their grades up. Parents really like our coaches too! The family vibe around here is not just talk it is real These coaches and recruits are family and they not only say it they show it! Malone is going to love being a Vol!

Hey Freak, I'm sitting here with my son. He wants to say hi and thinks it's cool that you started this site.

Thanks big harry. Enjoy your time with your son and tell him I'm honored to have him on the site.

Our sons need us to pass the Vol fan torch. Recent success certainly won't do it. :)

I don't want to get anyone's hopes up because like I said, last time I talked it wasn't close to a UT lock like many thought. But it was only a couple of weeks ago and Clemson would have to have a miracle to swing things that quickly. IMO.

So like I said, it's JMO. I could be wrong. Just trying to put things together.

This is actually something I've really thought about. Man, for a little kid, it might be tough to really start caring about this program. I hope not. My kid WILL be all Vol. Ha.
