'14 TN WR Josh Malone (UT commit 12/4/13)

And we had stud WRs throughout the Dooley era.

I'm talking about the class as a whole anyways. We have thirty plus commits and one more is going to be the difference maker?

Butch called the kid a "program changer" last week. Perhaps.

Malone is definitely a game changer. He does not have the physicality of say Marquez North, but he has similar explosiveness that Justin Hunter has and the elusiveness of A.J. Green. He will be the best WR in the nation in 3 years.

Agreed. I just couldn't believe Vol fans were arguing for going 4-8 in order to get a recruit.

Not for 4-8 to get a recruit. More than likely if we lose today it hurts our chances even further to get Malone.

This is a message board, full of hypotheticals every day. I simply said, all things being equal, if only one thing could happen, EITHER beat Kentucky OR sign Malone, that I would take Malone. That's all. You and others disagree. No problem. But I would take the stud WR for the next 3 years.

This debate over if you would rather the vols beat Kentucky vs landing Malone is silly. Everybody knows we're going to do both. Don't torture yourselves with such a negative scenario. Enjoy the win tonight and get excited to see Malone in the spring game. We can have our cake and eat it too. We're going to be the real Tennessee again...soon....

In the Spring, in the Fall, would you rather see one of the top freshman WRs in the country lining up, stretching the field, creating separation, running free, catching the ball opposite North and or Pearson.

Or would you rather be able to say, given that we evidently have 1 legit SEC WR in North, if we just had one more playmaker at WR this year.... but boy, at least we beat Kentucky last year.

Of course I don't want UT to lose 8 games for the first time in school history. I'm just looking ahead and seeing which occurrence helps our team next year and beyond. That's all.

Do you think we havent already gotten a ton of bad press and negative recruiting? This year is already a colossal failure... we're already being laughed at, looked down on, being written off for next year. I'm just saying we need as much talent as we can possibly get on next year's team and adding the best WR left that we have a chance to land helps the team more.

Btw, way to stay classy with the retarded comment.

Beating Kentucky helps our team the most next year and beyond. They want to win. A loss to KY and having UT's worst historical year ever would be extremely demoralizing. Butch wants a winning streak to start with this game.

I think our play on the field matters a little more than securing a recruit for the offseason. Winning and seeing Dobbs play well obviously helps to secure that recruit. Lets just root to win and haul in Malone.

The "real Tennessee fan" position is to want to beat the crap out of KY and to get the commitment from Josh Malone. No more no less, it that simple. Win - win situation.

I do think we get Malone, but I think we are far from guaranteed a victory tonight. Kentucky and their coaching staff are hungry and looking to make their mark. We better be ready. The past 5-6 weeks haven't given me a lot of faith.

First time poster on here but have followed this thread for sometime to see all the Josh Malone chatter. I talk with Josh a lot and I have said the past month that Florida State and UGA would be in the lead! As bad as that hurt me to say, I was honest with myself. However, this past week I have gotten a sense that JM is looking more and more into UT and FSU and UGA have fallen off, in steps Clemson. It is a two school race and CBJ and his staff are making a serious run. I know Mrs. Malone well and she doesn't allow visitors very often so the the Vols staff being allowed in the home is a good sign for us Vols fans!
