'14 TN WR Josh Malone (UT commit 12/4/13)

Said it in another thread, idc what anyone else thinks, we need Malone, Pearson and Lauderdale

From what I've heard he apparently has great hands in practice. Where those hands go during a game I have no idea. Seems like each time the ball is thrown to him he misses. Needs to be riding the bench until that's fixed

In all seriousness, he could benefit from a sports psychologist and mental visualization techniques. I'd mail him a copy of Psychocybernetics to get the ball rolling

Let me restate myself then... It's not like the kid is some lifelong UT fan, and with all the options he has, seeing our nonexistent pass game, I wouldn't be shocked now if he exercised one of his other options.. Unless Butch can sell him that he's the missing piece to the puzzle. But wow our offense looked pathetic. So predictable when they know you can't throw downfield.

Hopefully it still turns out in our favor on Dec 4

I dunno about that. Dobbs threw 2 picks that would not have been fixed by better WRs.

Ferguson better be the real deal or we may be watching Worley play his Sr year

The second pick was Crooms fault. Go. Ack and watch his route. He chops down and then drift 3 yards on his route.

Well, dog Worley all you want, but we probably would have had 2 more wins this year with Worley as the starter...Florida and Vandy. Just sayin'...and it is WAY TOO EARLY to judge Dobbs. He is a true FR who wasn't even an EE. Some of you guys want to say Dobbs isn't the answer...he may not be, but once again, he is a TRUE FRESHMAN!! Cut the kid a little slack. I'm sure he felt some pressure trying to make amazing plays to help the seniors win their final game in Neyland. He will learn from his mistakes.

Disagree on the ints. Josh Johnson cut his.route and turned.up field instead of heeding scramble rules.which dictate Wrs crossing the field work back towards.the QB.

And 18 could barely come out. Of his break without stumbling and made Zero attempt on the pass.

THANK YOU!! Tired of hearing everyone throw our TRUE FRESHMAN QB under the bus. It is a lot of guys fault. Our OL should have come out nasty last night. I honestly fault them more than anyone. I think all they see is $$$ signs, and seem to have packed it in a long time ago. We didn't even pass protect that well last night when we did throw, which is supposed to be their strength. I am thankful for what all of our seniors endured through the years, but will be very excited to see some new, fresh faces that play with mean streaks.

It's amazing it's the end of the year and almost all of the WRs don't run the right route still or they are not crisp. I wonder what they do in WR meetings? But yeah, not everything is on the QB when none of the WR know what the heck they are doing.

I did hear some good news last night on Malone. Tennessee is still his leader and we should be hearing good news on December 4th. Hope it stays that way.

Completely agree. Dobbs was getting no help from our line.

Keep the faith. Completely different WR depth chart next year and it will be 100% improved and more to the standard that this coaching staff needs to be effective in the passing game.

North, Pearson, Malone, Harris

Pig, Jenkins, Wharton, Berry

Ready to see a complete overhaul at the position.

Finally, somebody that gets what happened on those plays. All these expert coaches on these forums killing the QB for other peoples mistakes. Any recruit that really understands the game will be comfortable coming here to play with Dobbs or as I predict, Ferguson as the next QB.

I struggle to understand why we need a top 2-3 type player at every position to be competitive. Why is it that other schools take WRs ranked in the 50's-60's and win? Mathews was a 2* recruit. At candy he is a star, at UT he would be another excuse. If the coaches need the top rated WR in the 2012, 2013, 2014 classes, and 2 top Jucos to field a good WR group, we have the wrong guys coaching them. JMO

Not every 2 star recruit is Jordan Matthews, it's pretty clear that Josh Smith, Cody Blanc and Jacob Carter aren't. I'll take my chances with the talent we have coming in. Jimmies and Joes.

I guess my point is maybe a Josh Smith, Cody Blanc, or Jacob Carter would star for other schools. We use them as an excuse where as other programs may have them making 50 catches and gaining 800 yards a year.

Highly, highly doubt it. Smith can't make a catch at any crucial point in the game.
