Rivals100 wide receiver Josh Malone became one of the first prospects to use the NCAA's new "early signing period" for football to his advantage this week. Malone has narrowed his list to five schools: Tennessee, Florida State, Clemson, Georgia and Ohio State. Because he's still playing in the playoffs and wanted to make sure each school is willing to stand by their commitment, Malone decided to sign non-binding aid agreements with each school this week. As of Thursday, only the Volunteers took him up on the offer, and are now free to have unlimited contact with the Gallatin, Tenn. product for the rest of the recruiting cycle. Malone is expected to sign similar agreements with each school on his list, becoming the first player to sign multiple aid agreements since the rule came into effect earlier this month.

Malone will now have a scholarship locked in at each school, but is not bound to attend and could even change his mind and commit to a school outside of his current top five. When news broke of the agreement in Tennessee on Thursday, the Volunteers fan broke out the champagne, but Malone insists he's yet to make his college decision and will officially announce on Dec. 4.

Where will Malone end up?

If I had to make a guess where he would commit today? I would say Florida State. If I'm predicting where he'll announce on Dec. 4? The answer is Tennessee. Because Malone signed a financial aid agreement with the Volunteers, Tennessee can now have unlimited contact with Malone. While he's expected to sign with other schools on his list, including Georgia and Florida State, Tennessee still has a leg up, because Butch Jones and company are just a short drive away from Malone's home near Nashville. Expect the Vols coaches to burn up the phone lines and the Tennessee interstate as they make Malone their No. 1 priority going forward.

If it's Winston fever, they may need to take a step back and see where his investigation goes. Not that I think Jameis did anything. But I'd take anything to help Tennessee

Woody Wommack interviewed Josh after his FSU OV and at the time picked up a vibe that he was going to be a Nole. I think he's having a hard time changing his pick. JMO

Actually, Josh publicly ruled out Vandy several weeks ago. It was reported that he called and told them they were out of the running. Didn't like all the negative stuff coming out of West End around the gang rape.

Josh Malone is my #1 want for this signing class (along with Adore). However, the way that Josh and his family conduct themselves is very impressive.

I sure hope he's a Vol but will be a Josh Malone fan no
matter where he plays.

Seems pretty clear Malone is leaning to the good guys
